What's your thoughts on what it should look like?
I'm guessing a 14 team league is going to happen - so based on that....
Play each other home and away. = 26 games.
A trophy is awarded to the team top of the league. From there we split the leagues in 2 and the top 7 play each other home and away for some sort of league trophy similar based only on that 12 game period. Likewise, the bottom 7 play each other home and away for a bottom 7 trophy (the Americans love to have a bowl for the 2and string). (This is based loosely on the rugby league model)
I would guess the difficulty with this plan is how you award points and pick a team to be relegated. I guess it would have to be a total of points over the first and second half of the season.....but it's not ideal. If you split the league into 2 then theres no real point splitting if 7th place is so far behind 1st they dont have a chance of winning the league.
Benefit is 38 games for each club and the tv companies still get 4 old firm games
Change of format may also be a winner with th companies and give us something to bargain for more cash. (Based on the fact rugby league has a much better tv deal than we do whilst having far fewer people watching it.

Wont be a 7/7 split. Last game of the season one team in each section wont have a game. Could leave a scenario where 3 team are level on last day but one club has finished its games. The 2 other clubs play each other knowing a point each will see them avoid the drop.

In the model you talk about Tangy it would be a top 6 bottom 8 split.
I don't believe there will be any reconstruction. As many teams move closer to admin the longer lockdown goes on it's unlikely they would then vote to give themselves a smaller share of Tv money.

Also like the idea of a split into separate league type scenario half way through, probably 6 and 8.
Can’t see it though, no consensus or agreement as Scottish Fitba rips itself apart at present. Huns are loving stirring the shite, wishing death on all clubs and leagues here.

Keep it the way it is with a top league of 12.
Fuck Hearts.

100% this!

Just a personal preference, but I'd like as large a league as possible, to avoid playing 4 times a season against teams, especially those in the top league from Glasgow.
But that won't happen.

I would agree with you there Pat
The old 18 team league was just fine.
The argument that there was a lot of dead games usually meant less pressure on the teams and both teams trying to win.
The smaller top league playing each other 4x is boring. Personally I would rather play every team once at home, that makes it a bigger more anticipated match.
We are now at the stage where I saw the team in 3rd Aberdeen at home to Celtic playing to keep the score down, please don't claim we have a competitive league it's shit.
But as you say it will never happen, fans views don't matter.
Tin Hat Alert.....
12 is a perfect leage system.
I bet the EPL wishes it could go to 12.
The New Old Infirm will be 1st & 2nd in the league for decades to come whether there are 2, 12, 14 or 42 in the premier division.
They generate income which keeps the other 40 SPFL clubs going, like it or lump it.
The Albion Rovers chairman prays for an away Scottish Cup tie at either ground.
They'll make as much off that as 5 seasons' home gates.
It's the way it is sorry & I'm looking forward to next season, there is so much to play for.
Will we make top six? Bottom three? Fourth to ninth? It's exciting.I think so anyway.

Just because somethings the way it is, doesn’t mean it’s the way it should be. If we’ve just to accept the 2 have to be 1st and 2nd forever then the rest of the clubs should just shut their doors.
Football isn’t meant to be about income, it’s meant to be a sport.

Hopefully sevco die again soon, that would be an ideal scenario which could save Hearts and in turn Partick thistle and whoever was bottom of league one ( Stranraer I think?) from relegation. That would be fantastic for Scottish football I think, or maybe I just hate the horrible, piss reeking weegie cunts too much! 🤣

Strong indication from journalists tonight that reconstruction talks have been scrapped and current standings will stand. ie Hearts, Partick and Stranraer will be relegated.

That'll please Nelms then.

I had sympathy for Stranraer and Hearts, along with Thistle, but they can drop out of their leagues for all I care after backing Sevco in their childish tantrums recently. Unsure where Thistle stood in it all, but they can be collateral damage, especially with McCall being there.

So Dundee voted YES for essentially nothing then?

mon the jambos and inversneckie in the fundesliga next season

If this pans out right, agent JMac takes them on, then on a relegation run of 10 straight defeats after the Dee support scuppered his other half due tae admin issues hatred.
Relegated, pumped 6-2 & 0-2 then change vote tae see us champions in wierd twist tae gain something that gains fuckall other than Hearts most likely to challenge next season?

This makes me happy 😀😀😀

I read we are part of the 6 club "cabal" of selfish clubs taking grief and attitude from Falkirk, Partick, Sevconians etc...
All clubs are selfish during this and any period, serious or not.
Listening to radio today it sounds like there's a fair chance of Hearts going to the courts.
I think worst case for us if they won isn't loosing out on promotion, possibly financially if Hearts were awarded damages as the SPFL payments would probably dent future payments to all clubs.
If Hearts won which I seriously doubt will happen then other teams would play the same card.
Alot of conjecture and upset teams and fans may amount to fuck all.
We should feel at least relieved that during this mess and media circus we are coming out of it well so far.
That feeling of "We're ahrite", might dent season ticket sales though compared to clubs in desperate need that seem to be doing really well in donations, ST sales, fan enterprise initiatives etc.
Whilst some of them have stressed right out as the catalyst to help we're celebrating and feeling different. Fuckall wrang wi that but the budget for next season will dictate the squad.
If any Arabs who can afford season tickets are holding back or hovering over the purchase button I hope they decide to just do it.

I'm glad we voted against reconstruction.
I'm not against reconstruction per se.
But it has to be discussed more in depth and plans have to be agreed and set-out months in advance so it's a level playing field for all clubs regards promotion/relegation etc.
This reconstruction was rushed and was rewarding failure in my eyes.
One other thought. Who keeps leaking how clubs have voted?
It should be private information.

If United had proposed league reconstruction last season after we had missed out in the playoffs again, not one single club ( apart from the all giving and masters of integrity Dundee FC) would have offered any kind of support for the idea, not fucking one! So I say fuck all the bleaters! It's all about selfish interests and absolutely nothing to do with sporting integrity or the greater good of the game. They can all just suck it up and deal with it as far as I'm concerned, pretty sure most of them will be rooting for our immediate return to the championship next season, led by the sevconian victim support group of course.

I agree mate but the main link associated to the words "sporting integrity" is Oldco rightfully not allowed to change the rules to save them.
This current issue being played out has clubs claiming to give a fuck about fair play and rattling aff unfairness in a shitey attempt to seem like they have integrity or/and give a shite about fair play.
The more chairmen I hear on BBC radio Scotland the more I feel they have all fucked up by going on radio full of confidence in a pre planned effort that glitches badly under scrutiny.
I'm relieved our club has stayed mainly silent and off the live airwaves as its a fucking bad idea during this fucked up media circus.

The boy Leslie Deans on Sportsound earlier sounds a complete crackpot.
Why was I never aware of him before?

He is a bit of an odd character: was charged under the Proceeds of Crime Act a few years back, but after three years of 'investigating' the charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence. You can imagine why this may have been the case.
Unconnected, having been Hearts chairman, he sold his shares to Vladimir Romanov, and that turned out very well for Hearts.
Typical of many Hearts fans, blaming others for the club's misfortune, when the majority of their present problems are self inflicted. He was on Sportsound yesterday, threatening Hearts taking legal action against the SPFL and stopping football being played, with a lawyer's hat on. He runs an estate agency.
Edit: on another point, the six selfish clubs being named in the media............. I note that the list doesn't include the Glasgow twins. That seems, to me, highly unlikely.
