What is crystal clear, and I say this with great sadness, is that the club and fans are now at war.
Each fan must tonight look into their soul and decide which side they are on.
The side of true United fans who have been with the club through thick and thin, or the side of the owners.
Some supporters clubs will undoubtedly side with the club and its efforts to form a new foundation. They are entitled to do so.
Others will look to the past and make their own mind up.
You decide. What a pile of shite. You are over reacting and/or just stirring shit.
I appreciate it seems that way, but you've no idea how much that foundation means to me. I'm in shock.
The next 24 hours will determine so much.
Away n' bile yer heed.

Why shouldn't the Trust get some security over members cash? It shouldn't just be handed over carte blanche to be sent back to America. It should be used to help UNITED and the only way to do that is legal assurances.
Nothing to do with the Trust.

Yep, kinda strange that a newcomer to the board would make this their opening salvo.
I'm reasonably well known, I've posted on other forums under other usernames. You'd know who I was.
I'd rather not reveal my identity on this matter in case I get banned from the club.

Nobody reveals their name on a message board? I'm reasonably well known by my family and friends using my own name, but they wouldn't have a clue how to identify me in here. Very odd comments tbh. I understand if this is a big issue to yourself, but I see absolutely no value at all in trying to stir up a commotion and drive our new owner to regret his investment, absolutely none! All any United fan truly cares about is having a successful team and a well run club. Snake comments really won't help anyone, after all the shite of the last few seasons nobody needs any of this infighting.

Always United, firstly it's unnecessary and unhelpful to name call in the manner you have in your initial post today (and your second post on this board, the first being exactly 21 months ago).
And your first post, in July 2018, sung the praises of Stephen Thompson. You can see why folk might be suspicious.
Regarding the Foundation, I was enthusiastic about the group initially, but they failed to respond to simple queries I put to them, thus, to be honest, I almost forgot all about DUSF.
You don't speak for all United fans by any stretch of the imagination, and I'm sure, in time, we'll be provided with a more balanced version of the fall out between your organisation, and the club.
Great post

Not the time for fall outs, and worrying by the tone of the statement. What I can't understand & I have stayed quiet for a long time over this, but still feel it needs questioned;
1/ Why is the investment from Ogren in loans and not shares? The club is in debt of £5.3m with £3.8m of that to Ogren from the latest accounts of 2019 on Companies House.
2/ If Ogren invested his money via shares, it gives him greater control and he could invite DUSF to have shares as it would have no bearing on his (Ogren) control. Plus it would sit better with me, having no debt and a businessmen who is more involved in the club (share wise), then that way we are on the right track.
I may have missed answers to my questions previously.

I dont a lot about the DUSF.
I always thought to help the Club financially, the best way to do, is to go the matches, buy a Season Ticket, and buy loads of stuff from the Club Shop. Most genuine supporters will do most of these things.
I didn't have a problem with "an organisation" wanting to help the Club financially, but it wasnt for me. If want to give money to the Club, then I give it to the Club directly, not thru a 3rd party, and that's why I didn't join.
According to their own website:-
"The Foundation's purpose is to provide an additional financial support to Dundee United Footbal Club"
Fair do's, but I dont know where that includes getting shares from the Club, then after that, arranging a secured loan.
I have no idea what the DUSF members think of that. But the organisation now has the problem of what they're gonna do with folks money.
Here's the folk at the helm.

I was the same when it started but there were questions they could not answer for me so I decided not to put my money into the club that way, but that was my choice and respect the rights of all those who do put in.
It is an odd statement to release at this time, wonder what is really behind it and hope it can be cleared up.
For the foundation if they can't re-engage with the club how do they move forward or do they have to give all those who contributed their money back.

They do give the money back, yes.
But they may want to sit on it a bit longer.

I have heard that the Foundation will release a full statement soon.
Hopefully all parties can then start to work together to find a solution to help United in his hour of need.

Think Utd releasing this in the manner and the time they have is fucking bang out of order. Especially reading the DUSF early response.
Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Agree bud. Bad timing and public which isn't required or needed.
If Ogren is pissed aff wi fans it's 8 folk on a steering group and not the support in general.
I'll consider how I feel after both sides stories are known in more detail.
Until then plenty thoughts and opinions will fly around.
Some dick heads will chip in and and rivals will latch on.
Time to keep the heed.

What’s more divisive 1 guy on a message board or the actual club releasing an actual statement actually ruling out one fans group having anything to do with the club and saying they’ll set up a group to replace them?

So, I'm guessing always united is one of the high heidyins of dusf and his nose is well and truly out of joint. (Or a dee on the wind up)
The point is made further up that why are dusf looking for shares. I hope they arent looking to exert power over the club.... the way I read it, they made a move to make the trust look bad/take over from them. (This could be wrong but the way I remember it from the time)
I can understand the clubs cashflow is going to be very very tight just now. We have lost out on the income of 4 or 5 home matches, havent been able to sell season tickets and have not got prize money. At the same time, they have to apply and wait for furlough money whilst Bill's are all coming in.
I can understand that dusf wouldnt want the money going into a black hole and they seem to want the money to go to projects....but if the club is under considerable strain, then I dont understand why dusf would put roadblocks in the way of the club getting the money - even if temporarily.
My biggest fear (which may be completely unfounded) is that they all want to be club tie wankers

Maybe better waiting to see what dusf say regarding putting in roadblocks. Maybe it was the club that was being hard to deal with??
Club tie wankers haha. Like that. Well did one not try to buy the club? (Though I dont think he's involved now)

If that's your biggest fear out of all this then I envy you, friend.
There's people involved in the foundation who have been following United home and away since most posters here were at school. They are true fans who love United.
The time for recriminations is over though, I for one can't wait to see the Foundations statement and then we can all move in together.

B and t - we agree! I want to see more of where they are coming from but would rather avoid conflict - weve had several years of friction and I dont want to go back to it.
No idea about who tried to buy the club but I'm not in the know.....
Ps you can keep club tie wankers and use it as your own. You know the type though....tyson the teacher would be 1.... 😱😱

John Gibson tried to buy the club. It was widely reported in all the papers. Also I don’t know for sure, but the foundation have never came across as being desperate for a club tie or even a lanyard!
