Dundee Utd v Ayr Utd - 21st December 2019

The most important thing is, of course, to register a win and another 3 points in this fixture. And in doing so maintain Utd's fantastic 100% home record.

But.....

G
iven their defeat of us earlier in the season. Our poor record against them in the Championship (and beyond). The 0-5 annihilation at Tannadice last season (thanks Lawrence). And more so the comments from their (now former) Manager not long after that game earlier this season, that Ayr were 'comfortably' the best team in the Championship.

Well you know what? I'd love to (for once) give this lot a proper fucking humping.

Even in the short time Robbie Neilson has been in charge, the record stands P4 W1 D0 L3 F2 A9

Utd 0 Ayr 5
Ayr 1 Utd 0
Utd 2 Ayr 1
Ayr 2 Utd 0

*lost 2-0 away to Ayr the week befor Neilson took over, also*

Mon Utd. A win. And a good win please, with some goals.

Will be a tough game despite their recent poor run that the ended last week.  Moffat and Forrest always seem to give us a hard time.  Just got to keep on the same way we've been playing!

Big Jon Daly on the pitch at 2:50. Hope the DJ has got Fedde Le Grande ready to go. Maybe also get the accompanying video on the big screen as a wee Christmas treat for the old boys

Says who? That's not what I've hear. I was told it's six bookings for a suspension and that it takes 14 days to kick in also

Re: Dundee Utd v Ayr Utd - 21st December 2019

A few around me were saying that it's 5 bookings. Just had a look and you are indeed correct. Ach well. Good news.

Re: Dundee Utd v Ayr Utd - 21st December 2019

6 and it doesn’t kick in for 14 days from the 6th anyway. If he makes it to 20 without another then they should be wiped for the second half of the season.

2020 you mean? So the bookings get wiped off at new year?

Initially I meant 20 games into the season, but having tried to google for proof it seems December 31st they wipe (in England anyway.) Confused even myself now.

Re: Dundee Utd v Ayr Utd - 21st December 2019

As far as I understand it, a player is suspended for one match 14 days after the date he's been booked for a sixth time in a league game. Then the slate is wiped clean, excepting if he gets another six bookings in the league season, then it's a two game league suspension.

In any case, I think it's only Calum Butcher's fifth booking.

His sixth will be on Friday, I'd expect. Therefore his suspension would be the Partick game on the 11th in that hypothetical case.

Re: Dundee Utd v Ayr Utd - 21st December 2019

Doohan was a prick to Shankland. Read they are good mates and holiday together etc.

Walking up in his face giving him verbals then scuffing up the penalty spot the way he did it was bad craic v any fellow pro.
