Dundee Utd V's Alloa Athletic (Saturday 7th December, 3pm)

Same team as our last win at home to Qots, chaps (seems ages ago)?

Or bring back in Shankland from the start (assuming he's fit enough).

If he’s 100% he should play, even 1% off then play the same team.  No risks required right now.

If he isnt fully ready hold him on the bench. We don't want to risk further injury. We should be more than capable of beating Alloa at home!!

He didn’t take any part in the friendly yesterday.

Keep the same line up and formation as QoS for me, these guys deserve another start together.

Never knew there was a friendly.

Regardless, wouldn't look too much into that.

Why at all risk him in a totally meaningless game? If he's trained all week that alone should be enough to judge him on his fitness for Alloa.

Believe it was against Falkirk. Drew 2-2.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Alloa Athletic (Saturday 7th December, 3pm)

I would start the same team as QOTS, surely have enough in there to see off Alloa.

Bring Shankland on for last half an hour or so and bring him back in gently.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Alloa Athletic (Saturday 7th December, 3pm)

Well what a fucking strange one that.

We could have been 3 up after 7 minutes then find ourselves 1 down due to an OG. Thought we then had very good spells for the majority but a couple of shakey moments.  You could see the goals were going to come and they did.
Thankfully we got the win and 6 on the bounce. Conceding was a pity as it was an OG also.
Felt benji and the defence put us under pressure 3/4 times with passing about at the back. Some very good play throughout the match i thought also.

Onto Morton Tuesday.

Good summary, we really need to start putting our chances away.

Robson was unlucky to see his effort come back off the post as it would have been a cracking goal.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Alloa Athletic (Saturday 7th December, 3pm)

3 points is all that matters.  Last 10 minutes or so were poor tho, made it hard for ourselves trying to waste time and see it out instead of just keeping playing the way they had been, which was basically pinning Alloa back.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Alloa Athletic (Saturday 7th December, 3pm)

Every 3 pts is massive when yer chasing a league title.

Finishing could have been better but add couple of good saves and a good few  awkward chances when it looked like a goal was on wierdly ended up with only 2.

By awkward I mean when goals looked easily on early in the game, how the ball bounced up or sat or had that delay to be struck seemed to fk us up and let them crowd us.

Anyway, we played well most of the game and the support was more patient than before.

Glad Clark and Loui got goals. Good crowd for an Alloa game.

Peter Grants comments after the game were a bit strange imo. "It wasn't us that was shouting for the final whistle" well obviously not as you were losing you fucking idiot

Saw that and laughed.

Always good to bend it up a throbber like Grant. His ‘debate’ with Michael Stewart on sportsound a couple of weeks ago was something else.

Can’t believe I’m away to say this but I thought Reynolds passing from back was different class yesterday

Re: Dundee Utd V's Alloa Athletic (Saturday 7th December, 3pm)

Forgot to mention that bell end with the whistle yesterday, twice yesterday the ball was going to us when he stopped play and he gave them the ball. The one in the second half was outright ridiculous.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Alloa Athletic (Saturday 7th December, 3pm)

On another day we could have been 4 up before they got into our half, how on earth is Jamie MacDonald playing for a side like Alloa? very good keeper

It’s the new rules, if ball hits ref it’s a uncontested drop ball for last team to touch ball

The new rules are a joke.  Fifa don’t have a clue.

Re: Dundee Utd V's Alloa Athletic (Saturday 7th December, 3pm)

Chuft we that. Was at night oot straight efter the gehm so didna tae time to post anything last night.

Think we musta had aboot 6 good attempts in the 1st 10 mins. I screamed at the ane that Clark missed. No to mention the number oe corners we were getting. No looked at the stats but was aroond 10 for the 1st half.

The OG was bizarre. Reynolds was in front oe an Alloa player. If he didna play the ba then, the Alloa player woulda got it. Think that's what Benji was expecting. Efter the OG, Alloa then came oot the swamps a bit

Great ba in fae think it was Robson for the 1st, did Stanton dummy it ? and great finish beh Clark. The 2nd was thanks to a great ba fae Harkes right across goal for Louis to finish.

Only negatives. I still think we should be wiping the flare we teams like Alloa. Its bizarre. At times, Alloa played thru oor midfield yesterday. Hope naebody bites meh haed aff, but I still think sometimes - we lack the killer instinct.

Dallas is just as bad as his old man.

MOTM for me Robson.

Fair summary. I thought the ball McMullan played through for Harkes was even better tbh. As for the killer instinct, the three week lay off definitely will not have helped at all I'd say. Hopefully sharper on Tuesday.
