2nd Dundee Derby of the season is fast approaching and we are late with this weeks thoughts on line up etc.
I would go with an unchanged line up from Saturday's convincing victory up at Inverness.
I know Connolly got a 45 minute run out for the reserves but think throwing him in against Dundee Friday maybe too soon.

Same team for me also. Hopefully Pawlett is fit for a late 20 minute cameo, think he’s much more effective coming on and running at a tiring defence.

Agree regarding Connolly. Probably best sticking with same line up, felt really confident watching us on Saturday.
Dees are talking themselves up and are due a blip. Glad we have a points lead going intae this that keeps them below us regardless.
Main worry I have is Shankland taking a deliberate bad injury.

Think it will be the same starting XI as Saturday. And probably fair that it is. That was our best away result this season (and maybe our best away result since we came down to the Championship actually?).
Only other change i can see is Butcher put back to CH and Neilson risking a duo of Harkes-Stanton at CM. A gamble whatever he does in this respect.
The BNB's are really confident for this one i've noticed. You can feel it amongst their support. They don't just think they'll win, they think they can turn us over.
They seem to be looking more forward to it than us.
First goal in this game will be important. As i don't see it being the goalfest it was back in August.
We need every player to take a game in this one and be prepared to go to War. This will be a very physical game i feel.
This feels like a pivotal moment in the season. Maybe even the pivotal moment.
Mon Utd.

Me too, but it's a possibility whoever we play against (although not all are as bitter as the Fun) I just hope the referee does his job and gives any required protection.

Although I'm a critic of Connolly's erratic behaviour, he spoke incredibly well in the media thing on facebook. Sensible and articulate....not what I expected
As for the match, I expect shankland to be in for some rough treatment but the good thing for us is the dees will be so worried marking shankland out the game, that it will leave spaces for clark and McMillan (or even harkes running from deep positions)

Watson had a good match at CH on Saturday but he has had a number of poor performances before that. Brown may be brought back for this one.
A rare occasion of a fully fit squad

Probably be in favour of starting with the same eleven. But Robbie will possibly want Peter Pawlett in, if available, at the expense of young Louis Appere.

Agree, if pawletts fit i think he'll be on for Appere. Means Appere is a good option to bring on when/if required.

Agree having watched the goals back from 1st derby some 62,000 times with my young lad every morning and evening Pawlett had a hand in 4 of the 6 goals his set piece delivery could be vital

Only 1 of the last 10 derbies has had less than 3 goals so expecting goals.
If we score first we win, if they score first I fear they’d be able to sit in and prevent us getting back into it.

Our wee pal Ben from Dunfermline previews the game.

Dundee cannot defend crosses.
We must exploit this.

Absolutely stinking. Try taking the handbrake off for once neilson ffs.
Big, big win.
Fair play to RN - first ICT, then the fun - we've stood up and been counted and it's put us in a really strong position.

The Fun are an embarrassment to our city. They should be disbanded!

Not a vintage performance but a very hard working one. Could easily have been 5-0 but I'm absolutely delighted with 2-0. Watson was terrific at the back, I thought we dominated the middle of the park and the full backs worked tirelessly too. The front four kept going and ultimately showed the class to win the game. Fucking yes!!!!! No better feeling for a Friday night

We were terrific in the 2nd half.

YYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛 💛💛💛
After 65 minutes I was wanting the game to end as quickly as possible.
After 75 minutes I was wishing we could have played all night.
We just got better & better, the first half nerves had gone, the players were enjoying it.
All down to Neilson taking the handbrake off I guess
