David is a great lad

I’m fucking delighted, happy as a piggy in shite he’s gone. Surely we can now start to move forward. Martin has made some decent changes so far and I hope László proves us wrong and he is a genius with his own team.
Let’s get right behind the team now and blow the fuck out of this Championship.

great news to wake up to and thank fuck for that! I'll worry about what's to come when it needs worrying about. For now, fucking great news.
Onwards and upwards. Lets get the fuck out of this division.

He's a lifelong Arab that's for sure!
Was he not on the socks a couple of seasons ago? Or was it the shorts...?

Good guy, big Arab (not just cause he’s about 8 foot tall) though doesn’t go to a lot of games. One of the 6 who cleared the clubs bank debt. Has helped keep the club going when we’ve been in a number of precarious financial situations.
No worries whatsoever about any ill intentions or ulterior motives at all from him.

People also need to give up on their agendas with Mike Martin, nobody knows how much say he’s had on decisions made in the past, Thompson, I was told, has always been very stubborn and hard-headed, and always had an attitude of “I’ll do whatever the phuck I want.
All we can do now is as Martin said, judge him on his own actions, and thus far they have been very positive on the face of it.
I really hope the people that have stayed away for the past few seasons can come back and support the new regime, it’ll ultimately give the club the best chance of getting back to where we belong; Regular top-six finishes, cup finals and back on our perch as the undisputed top dogs in the city, which we are.

Maybe a wee bit credit to John Gibson for moving things?
Will we ever know if there was Yankee involvement? I'm happy there isn't, tbh.
I'll give it a chance, Martin, Fyffe and maybe Hamilton and Conway, thank you for at least ousting ST.
And also thank you to arab87, JerryDungle, Trap6 and others who had snippets here and there to offer, made the summer interesting (and frustrating).
Still can't get my head round Csaba being here, but will give him a chance.

Nothing else for it. He’s what we have, pre-season, from all accounts, has been far tougher than the holiday camps of past years, which is a good sign.
Hopefully the new squad has a bit more respect for Csaba, instead of going about telling other Dads at their sons football training about what a wanker he is.

A friend of his might have, he never mentioned the Americans, just that the takeover was still on. I just assumed it was still the Americans that were involved. Tbf, Dave might not even be one of the two “local businessmen”. I’ll still need to do a bit of digging on that.
They were definitely in talks with Americans for a long time, and might still be.

Been in the big fella's company a couple of times, I don't know him very well but he comes over as proper decent bloke and a big United supporter, so thumbs up from me.

As an aside it would be interesting to hear what the unacceptable conditions John Gibson felt were being asked. Though i very much doubt we will ever find out sadly.
Fwiw these, according to Jim Spence in the Courier, were the reasons
"These I’m told, asked for a very large payment for private legal fees, for matters unrelated to club business, plus a three day time frame to complete the deal.
This couldn’t be achieved, given the legal requirements for the current board to approve the transfer of the shares, a process which would have taken much longer than that."
academic now although I guess MM must have met the first condition if this is accurate
