Aberdeen v Dundee United - Sunday 11th February (4.30pm)

Focus now turns to a Scottish Cup game a lot of our fans have a fair bit of (understandable) fear and trepidation about as Aberdeen are a decent side on their day and we are struggling badly.

Me? I think we have nothing to lose and as a consequence should just try and embrace the challenge of taking the game to them. Better to go down fighting etc etc.

What way would you guys play this ? What would be the game plan? Sit in and try and absorb their pressure and hit on the counter? Stifle the game in midfield? Have an out and out go?

What team would you play also?

Re: Aberdeen v Dundee United - Sunday 11th February (4.30pm)

Im just looking for a committed performance. We have little to no chance of avoiding defeat but we need to show a bit of team spirit.

prediction 4-0 loss
5 fouls committed  no bookings  1 corner & 1 shot on target

The only crumb of comfort i am taking is Aberdeen under McIness have a real habit of bottling the 'big games'.

Though we do too.

One things for sure we need to score first and/or not concede early.

I'd play the under 20s, past giving a fuck about our first team. All a bunch of lazy gutless cunts

I fear if we lose an early goal the flood gates would open, and god knows what the final score would be

I have the fear of a spanking, they will be thinking they’ll give us a spanking so anything less than a spanking will be seen as a step forward in my eyes.

They will be desperate to beat us.

So yes i would say it is a big game for them.

As opposed to them playing another Championship team or the likes of County, Killie, Accies etc

Everyone has an off day as we well fkn know and they've lost to some smaller teams in recent times.

I'm less bothered about being out the cup than i've ever been.

Unless we get an almighty pumping I won't be too upset.

They will expect to win but might underestimate us. Play our best and have some luck and it might be a braw day oot, probably no though eh.

Re: Aberdeen v Dundee United - Sunday 11th February (4.30pm)

Try and get something from the game to kick start the rest of the season. Highly unlikely to get a win or draw so see if we can frustrate them like we might need to do in the play off away games (if we get there) and see if we can come up with some set piece magic instead of our usual play it short and give away possession.

We just need to try and frustrate them, but we'll get pumped rotten I fear.

I don't think this is going to be the walk in the park so many of our lot seem to think it will be for Aberdeen on sunday.

I hope I'm right.

I’d put Slater or Lyng in instead of Flood.....he’s finished imo.

Agree.  Flood is well past his sell by date.

Was tempted to omit Flood or put him at RB.

But you at least get 100% from the wee man.

Re: Aberdeen v Dundee United - Sunday 11th February (4.30pm)

I’d go out there and give 100% effort too.......but like Willo my best years are long gone so the boots are in the attic.........actually that’s maybe a good choiceof somewhere to go and hide for 90 minutes tomorrow ......in the United midfield or the attic

Re: Aberdeen v Dundee United - Sunday 11th February (4.30pm)

hopefully Czaba has the bottle to put McDonald on the bench .  In a game where we are going to have 24% possession and spend our time chasing and closing down the laziest player at the club is not required.

Agreed. TEK's team for me. I suspect Flood will be up for it tomorrow. Quinn is the problem though.

Too much commotion

Re: Aberdeen v Dundee United - Sunday 11th February (4.30pm)

Quinn has been okay in the air, but the ball at his feet is an issue. I try to forget about him, and the fact we gave him another contract, between games.

McDonald is likely to go in the huff if he's put on the bench, maybe even storm out the club.

I'd put him on the bench.

Flood gives the effort, but for me he gets in the road of other players by trying to cover too much, with the result he doesn't do his own job. The various management must have told him this, it's made no difference.

But I've no idea how Csaba will 'organise' his players, or who he'll pick.
