What also leads to loads of empty season ticket holders seats for Sunday games is the amount of kids who play Sunday boys in this area. There's a full fixture card across 10am, 12 noon and 2pm kick offs for various age groups. That often prevents their parents from going to Tannadice as well. I know personally my son is playing at 2pm so has to be there for 1:15pm so will miss the match. I'm going to Tannadice but will then head down to his game but will likely miss about 15-20 minutes.

Turmoil or not, they absolutely pummelled Ross County (who we could only draw against) a few weeks ago. It'll be really tough and any result will be welcome. The big decision for me will be whether or not to stick with the 3-4-3 or go 3-5-2. 3-4-3 has the advantage of having Ferry and Trapanovski which will help us defensively against Tavernier and Cerny who are their main threats down their right. I worry about leaving Ferry on the side on his own in a 3-5-2. The disadvantage is again, what we do with Babunski in that 3-4-3 system.

The 82/83 team were abysmal in the 81 Scottish Cup Final (the replay especially) and the 1984 League Cup Final against Rangers. The mental thing 100% stemmed from us not winning the 1981 League Cup Final v Rangers when Sturrock's goal was disallowed. We win that I reckon we'd have won every subsequent cup final.

Get what you are saying about the 94 team in one-off games TEK. But they also were lucky not to get relegated and got relegated the year after losing plenty of big games along the way. The Aberdeen game up there was a 'cup final' and were never at the races.

With equal levels of fitness, I'd say the 86/87 team could beat them, but if they played each other 10 times the 82/83 team would win 7/8 times out of 10.

The 09/10 team and the 96/97 team would maybe win 1/2 times out of 10.

The 94 team would get pumped every time as would Jackie's team.

Because we know more than him?

Maybe we should be picking out a fan from the crowd to be manager for the day?

I was player/manager of a Midlands Amateur team in the 80s & 90s, I've applied for the DUFC Manager's position on 19 occasions & have never even received one acknowledgement, never mind an interview.

And?

Sevelj shouldn't be that big a miss.

Have plenty of cover defensively now.

I'd have played him in midfield. They are a big, strong running outfit. Anyway, not much we can do.

I've always thought taking away the European place for the winners is what devalued it, particularly in the eyes of fans of the provincial clubs since it blocks an avenue into Europe. That's why the Scottish Cup continues to get better crowds.

Need a right wing back. A striker with some pace  and a back-up left back.

Reckon these will require Watt, Grimshaw and either Middleton or Kai (who has been linked with Crawley) to go.

I don't think O'Donnell will play any part in this competition because it means he's played for one club this season. If we put him on loan and it doesn't work out he has to come back to us whereas we could get a second club for him in January.

A laboured 2-0 victory followed by a shrug of the shoulders from Goodwin and the players scarcely disguising how they aren't really arsed about this competition and are actually quite happy with a few free weekends in August and September.
