The warm weather means that muscles are more pliable and therefore the risk of strains and muscle tears is reduced. The cold weather can tighten muscles resulting in injury if athletes don’t do a proper warm up. Of course training in the warm does not mean that you can skip the warm up as it is still necessary but the length of it can be reduced.

The sun is a natural way of getting a daily dose of vitamin D. Some research has suggested that a lack of vitamin D can result in sports related muscle injuries. Other research has suggested that the vitamin actually improves reaction time, muscle strength, speed and endurance. Apparently in the 1950s and 80s German and Russian athletes used sunlamps to stimulate vitamin D production to increase performance and reduce injuries!

As mentioned before many of the benefits are psychological. It is often said that a change is as good as a break and a warm weather training break can be a great motivator, help renew athletes focus and gives athletes the chance to train and recover without other daily distractions.

Knowledge is the bomb

Would imagine it does cost a fair wack but they will be working on team building without wife's, kids etc and living in each others pockets for a period of time, the hotter conditions will help with cardio training and conditioning. It's also a chance to play some games against teams that aren't Forfar, Montrose, Brechin etc etc

Dundee United » Callum Morris » 13/7/2015 2:12 pm

in his senior career he has played 86 times in 5 years which works out at an average of 17.2 games a season, so we might see his about Christmas time!

To be fair to him he was rushed back last season as we were shipping goals left right and centre so he was picking up more injuries as he wasn't actually 100% ready

Class fae the lad, honestly do think he loved playing for us and our club. However as long as he's at Celtic i will not be wishing him any success. I'll love him again when he moves to Charlton or someone like that!

Fickle i know but that's the way i roll,

Welcome aboard young man.
His quote included -
"The manager's desire to sign me and his vision for taking the club forward convinced me this was the right place to enhance my development and improve as a player."

Any chance we can get an insight into your vision Jackie as i'm no sure where we're going at the moment.

Minimum of £1.5 from Celtic according to duthie tweet this morning.

If true it's a great price IMO

I'd take the 1.3m if that is what is being offered. nadir is not the type of boy who will give 100% if he's not wanting to be there. As has been seen in large spells last year when things weren't going his way. Minding he is likely to be banned for a number of weeks (unless he goes to the tic obviously😉)

Canny wait to the football actually starting as this close season in particular is doing my tits in now 🐂💩

Funnily enough that is the same word I'd use to describe his defending for large chunks of the season!

Utd are in a no win situation here. None of us want him to leave, ESPECIALLY to Celtic. But he's stated he wants to go. Absolutely zilch Utd can dae aboot that, nothing at all.

He's going. Get used to the idea that he'll probably be playing against us soon.

The one thing that Utd can do to soften the blow for the fans is to spend some money on a big signing or 2. Failure to put money back in to the playing squad, and I mean decent proven players, will result another meltdown.

Let's see how serious the club is.

Spot on

Nail on the napper! If we dinny sign someone wha we've heard of and we get pumped the first few games it's gonna be a shitstorm

Would just love for Jackie to be given even £700,000 to buy players to give us a real boost.

No gonna happen though 😪

@ScotlandSky: @SkySportsNewsHQ has learnt that @dundeeunitedfc and @LaticsOfficial have agreed a fee for striker Nadir Ciftci

Looks like we've agreed a price with Wigan Athletic for Nads!

Agree with that Beharder.

First season he was playing for the team, last season too many times he was playing for himself and if things were not going his way then the toys were out of the pram.

Boy is a mavrick of a player and have loved watching him in spells but it's time for him to move on as keeping him here when he would prefer to be elsewhere be counter-preductive IMO.

We are however now falling further behind Celtic and Aberdoom and can only see us realistically looking at scrapping a top 6 place and maybe a semi or two in the cups if the draw is kind to us

Right lets hope this gets done quickly as has been stated as we don't really have time to piss about for two weeks trying to squeeze another £50k out of an offer. He'll more than likely be banned for the first couple of months so lets get shot now and get someone else in hopefully with at bit of expereince
