Very true Bob! You need to let me know your top 20 movies sometime Bob, think we have more in common than just Dundee United
I love the movie posters as well, for the movies that get into the next round I will put up the different versions of them. E.g. this would have been The Princess Bride's one if it had went through...

Another round of great movies for me, I like Blues Brothers the least out of the four even though it's still great.
I have no shame in saying I love Top Gun, cheesy as fuck, saw it in a late night showing a few years ago full of fans and it was one of the best/funniest atmospheres I have been to watching a film. And I will be hated for saying this but I think Tom Cruise is a very underrated actor. Just watch his understated acting in Rain Man and Magnolia.
Also I loved Chevy Chase in the 80's, and when I grew up I loved Steve Martin even more, but it's Martin Short who steals the movie for me in the Three Amigo's. Love it! He also was in another great 80's film I loved with Nick Nolte called Three Fugitives, and Innerspace with Dennis Quaid, both movies sadly not in this comp. This movie was actually Martin Short's film debut.
But my vote goes to The Empire Strikes Back. I am a Star Wars whore, it's not even my favourite (that's Return of the Jedi!) but there is only a couple of movies I would vote over Empire in this competition and they haven't been drawn yet
The Towering Inferno and Star Trek 111: The Search for Spock?

I did like the Towering Inferno, but no as good as Backdraft
(and yes they did show a trailer of Backdraft in one of the lessons at the Fire Service College when I was a recruit)

For sure Siebby! Not many surprises in the my top 20 to be fair and always subject to change, I usually go with films I'm happy to watch over and over again rather than 'critical acclaim.' I think you can like or love a film but if you don't watch it again and again then I don't put it down as a favourite. A top 100 would be easier to do! In no particular order:
Ghostbusters II
Back to the Future
Casino
Heartlands
Shaun of the Dead
Blues Brothers
Home Alone (1 or 2 - impossible to separate)
Beavis and Butthead Do America
Clerks
It’s All Gone Pete Tong
Trading Places
Goodbye Charlie Bright
Bad Santa
Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels
Star Trek (2009)
Rocky
Fever Pitch
Goodfellas
Pulp Fiction
Django Unchained
Look forward to seeing the other posters!

Missed this, but it would've been Blues by a whisker from Amigos.
Other stuff I'm glad I missed.

Great stuff Bob, I love Clerks and Kevin Smith, I actually went to his comic book store in Red Bank New Jersey called Jay and Silent Bobs secret stash, I bought an signed copy of the Mallrats screenplay

Nice, great memento! Really like Kevin Smith, only one I'm not keen on is Chasing Amy. You'll be looking forward to the next Clerks and Mallrats then?
Few good movies upcoming!

I thought Clerks 2 was really good, here's hoping they can pull it of again, donkey show or no donkey show.
Mallrats was the first Kevin Smith film I saw, and it's still my favourite so I'm very much looking forward to the sequel. Brodie Bruce = Awesome.
