Read this earlier. Puzzled as to who it could be.
Could only be Soapy surely?

Heard a rumour months ago that Sporting wanted to take him as well as Gauldie. But of course Soapy was injured last Summer.
Could be bollocks right enough.

Could it be soupy ? Seems to have been pushed to the background of late, I think he'd be a massive loss to United remember Stretch talked about him constantly when asked about his formative years at Tannadice, I'm sure he would be singing his praises to Delia
(and rightly so )
Hope I'm wrong

Been the case all my life, nothing unusual about it at all apart from Rangers not being involved in the story's about our players.
Maybe a pity that our young crop of stars blossomed whilst the hun were serving their time in the Barlinnie Leagues of Scottish Football otherwise we probably would have recouped far more in a bidding war between the biggot brothers

I'd like to think it won't happen re Souttar, but feel Jackie hasn't really helped the player develop as he might have.
"Money talks and bullshit walks." But we've got to know what money we want, to talk.

It's unreal.
We're looking at the very real prospect of getting upwards of £1.5M for five different players in a twelve month period. That's fucking mental.
I still say that's what's going to happen when you develop players who are essentially too good to stay at the club.
It's a Catch 22.

Players doing well at any Club in Scotland will always be linked to Celtic and or Rangers and they are only worth what they are prepared to pay and we are prepared to accept I'm afraid. Hopefully no more are sold to them though.

Yet we're still not debt free apparently.
FWIW I'm not that interested in the finance side of things. I just want to go to Tannadice and get a right good drink at least once a month.
I can cope with players going. We're a small club. If we get good players they'll go. It's a fact of life. 6 going in a year is a sore one to take though. Really sore. I'd be more upset about Souttar than Nadir tbh. We've not seen the best of Souttar yet. He is going to be absolute quality. Nadir is Nadir. Great talent but his daftyness will prevent him being a top player.
He'd be brilliant at Celtic though.

It's not just the fact our players are leaving though for me mate.As you say we have seen it several times over the years (to Rangers,Celtic and others) and the club has moved on each time.
But we used to at least see guys at the club for 4 or 5 years though before they moved on.
Now?50 games and some of them are off.The Manager has absolutely no chance to build a squad and the fans have no chance to build a rapport or any real memories of a side.
Souttar has the potential to win 50+Scotland caps imo...been at the club since he was 10,and yet as he's out of contract in a few months will now walk for buttons.
I am so so dissilusioned with things.

if either or both go no doubt we will replace them with shite if jackie is still here when it happens.

I think John Souttar is contracted until the end of June 2016. His agent is John Colquhoun.

I get what you're saying but maybe Souttar has been offered a new deal? Maybe discussions are going on now? Maybe he doesn't want to extend?
We don't know what going on behind scenes. I too an pretty disillusioned at the moment. We can't make players stay nor can we offer wages that even Aberdeen do.
It's a catch 22 situation for club. Give players good deals and incentives to extend whilst trying to balance books and trying to ensure players don't leave for fuck all. While at the same time trying to remain competitive.
Tbf to the chairman he has managed to get the club on a fairly even keel. It fucked our season though.
I don't think we'll ever be in a situation where can turn down decent wedge for our talent but at the end of the day we are the 6th biggest club in a very small country in a piss poor
league. Unfortunately the option is like it or lump it.
It is pretty depressing but at the end of the day it's only a game. It's better than going to IKEA every week

Scrub that information: the official site says Souttar's contract ends in January 2016.
"He became a feature under new manager Jackie McNamara and started the 2013-14 season well, earning a contract extension to keep him at the Club until January 2016, before dropping out of the side to the bench, starting less frequently."

'even keel'.
We're having to sell off players every few months to plug pretty massive financial gaps in our accounts.
This way of running the business cannot continue.
Whole club is rudderless.

If we sell another two players this summer and are still not completely debt free Stephen Thompson should be investigated.
Honesty is the best policy and if Thompson was honest from the outset about how much debt we were actually in (bank & soft loans) he would still have the full backing of the fans.

P.S. I fucking hate the term 'soft loan'
