Re: Dundee United V's 'Well - Saturday 24th January 3pm

No room for Erskine on the bench Sir! Have to say i agree with most of that squad though and especially playing Connolly who was superb when he came on against Motherwell in the Cup but then again we have pretty much all said the same every game since. C'mon Jackie, let the laddie loose. Totally agree on Telfertoo even though it may leave us a tad softer in the middle.

Hear their shout, hear their roar
They've probably had a barrel of ale and much, much more
Hooray, hooray, hooray, yeah
Over the hill went the swords of a thousand men

Re: Dundee United V's 'Well - Saturday 24th January 3pm

I'd be pretty close to what TEK has, Dow for GMS for me, or even Spittal on the right and Connolly on the left as Jackie likes Blair.

Would love to drop Ciftci too but don't think we can afford too, we need him to score on Saturday and go into the Aberdeen match with confidence.

In my team I'd change the keeper, but I know this won't happen:

...............Szromnik....................
Dillon....Morris...Fojut....Townsend
.............Butcher..Telfer................
Connolly...Armstrong...Dow......
...................Ciftci.......................

Subs -
Czierniak
Watson
Souttar

Spittal
GMS
Paton
Anier

Yeah, my thoughts too.

I don't think we can afford to drop him but his attitude and decision making stinks 70% of the time, IMO.

Re: Dundee United V's 'Well - Saturday 24th January 3pm

There's an 'immaturity' (cannae think of another word for it) to Nadir's play that really needs ironed oot.

I don't think he's actually lazy (as some fans aim at him),but the petted lip comes oot far too quickly and often for my liking.

We need 'winners' in the team.Guys who have a fire in the belly, who work even harder when the chips are doon.

He has the ability,of that there is no doubt. But i am often left questioning his desire in games, particulary games when the opposition are working doggedly and frustrating us.

Re: Dundee United V's 'Well - Saturday 24th January 3pm

Aye...immaturity is a good way to describe it...he's maybe not immature (don't know him personally) but he plays in the manner at times as a spoilt school kid who knows he's the best player in the team but won't play as a team

he actually can do the dirty work, he actually can put a shift in, he actually does look like he cares, he sometimes is as good as ive seen at playing people in...i just can't put my finger on it why he drives me fucking barmycan we no clone him with Derek lilley....now there's fucking attitude

Re: Dundee United V's 'Well - Saturday 24th January 3pm

Anier looked MILES off the pace last night when he came on which is a bit worrying.  No way is he fit enough to play up top on his own at the moment on last night evidence. Nads up top for me at the moment.

Too much commotion

One things for sure the young 22 year old knows where the back of the net is think hes played about 60 games for us and scored 28 thats not including the screamer at wigan and when he turns around the weaknesses in his game he wont be playing in tangerine thats for sure personally thats not far away

Barry Robson had a poor attitude and temperament then turned it round and became a total matchwinner for us.

Maybe Nads will evolve the same way.

Doubt he'll be here long enough for us to benefit from it in any case.

Re: Dundee United V's 'Well - Saturday 24th January 3pm

see all this 'if nadir could smooth his rough edges he'd be away'...imho thats a load of fucking cack

so we have to just accept this is the way it is? would you no rather he worked at this and got better?

IF he played with his head up, played as a team player all the time, he's that good, and we're that good going forward we'd win a trophy...would you no rather he turned it right on, won a trophy , netted us a fee and fucked off after a season...or scored a load of goals, frustrated, was here for three years and fucked off for nothing?

HE CAN dae it....thats what bugs me

no that's not what i meant.

I meant even with his flaws i reckon someone will take a punt on him at the end of the season.

When his game evolves and he matures as a person and becomes more consistent he won't be here for us to enjoy his best fitba.

IMO.

Re: Dundee United V's 'Well - Saturday 24th January 3pm

I wouldn't drop Ciftci either. If Rankin and Paton  start though I think I might stay in boozer.

Hope Connolly starts as well
