St.Johnstone Vs Dundee United - Saturday 17th October

A chance to overtake the Saints and move up to 5th in the table (or even potentially 4th).

Starting XI?

Right back and Centre Forward are our two problem positions.
IMO Rawlins was poor against Hibs he wasn’t under defensive pressure but his passing was awful.
Metsoko , in a game where the ball spent a lot of time in the Hibs box never looked like scoring once.
Both were taken off but I’m not convinced Nammo or Rose are much better.

Nammo got into a couple of great positions where he could've scored, then he channelled his inner Metsoko.

Rawlins is improving, slowly, but we're building a team, i'd be inclined to keep playing the same XI until we lose or injury/suspension forces our hand.

Re: St.Johnstone Vs Dundee United - Saturday 17th October

Bar highlights I haven't seen the last two games.  Normally I'd agree that you don't change a winning team unless you have to, but the key for me here is we took chances against St Mirren but scraped through against Hibs with a scrappy finish.  Question for those at the Hibs game, the chances that we missed, do you see the same players having the same bad luck/lack of skill in front of goal again or would we normally have converted some of those chances?  If it is the latter then, on the basis chances are being created, I'd stick with the same team, if the former then justified in shaking things up in the frontline.

Finn,
I didn’t see anything from the forwards who came off the bench to think they would be any better than the ones that started.

Only change I’d be tempted to make would be Rose for Metsoko.

Yeah I did think to myself that might have been the case.  I guess if people are not pressing their case when they come on from the bench they can have no complaints if they don't start.

Sounds like Ferry will be out for a couple more weeks

I think most of us would replace Metsoko with Rose, but if you're chasing a game, would you rather bring on Rose, or replace him with Metsoko?

This is a great opportunity to press on and cement the progress we're making.
I'd like to see us being more on the front foot from the start though.

Don't let them settle, high energy from the off. Press them, they will make errors.
And if the front 3 can be more clinical that would definitely help our case 🧡

That's a pertinent question.

And i think i would start Metsoko and bring on Rose when the game is stretched.

Though i don't rate either, i think that is the best play.

I've gave up on Sapsford as a No.9.

Heard a rumour a few days ago that him and Goodwin have fell-out.

Walton
Naamo Bert Forbes Kev
Zidane Tait
Randall Cameron Bennie
Metsoko

Not having rawlins at all, Naamo for me deserves a run of games Is the only change I’d make.

Unchanged.
I thought! Metsoko was a good target / layoff man against Buddies.
Sapsford's soo frustrating

Sapsford for months now just doesn’t look interested. I wouldn’t have him anywhere near our squad anymore.
