Plainly obvious that the vast majority of the support has turned. Three of our next four are against teams that will likely be in the bottom six. I’ll personally be surprised if Goodwin is still here in October

Would take Neil Lennon in a heartbeat- god forbid we had a winner in the dug out

Seen a few saying Duncan Ferguson- wild take done absolutely nothing to suggest he should be anywhere near the managers position at United

Mcglynn or Lennon has to be the 2 if Goodwin was to leave

Fiery passionate character with a great track record of playing young players.

My first choice would be Stephen Bradley at Shamrock Rovers (has been my first choice for a year or two).

Has taken them as far as he possibly can. I believe he works without a contract after his last one expired.

Basically a Gentleman's agreement.

Only stumbling block is they are top of their league with 9 games left to play. So he might not depart before they have mathemtaically sealed their 2nd title in a row (and 6th in 7 years).

If i'm United owner i'm eyeing that long International break from the end of September right through to 2nd week in October for wholesale change in the Dug-Out.

I feel there's a reason Lennon is at Dunfermline, out of the way, whether he prefers not being in the spotlight or whether there's issues or things chairman don't want to touch, who knows?

There must be a reason that he's never been approached or given another job, St Mirren, Aberdeen, Dundee, Killie, Well have all appointed guys in the last year and I can't remember him being in the running.

I would put good money on any release clause being pretty nominal as well.

Lennon recently extended at Dunfermline so can’t see that happening. Have to pay decent compensation unless there is a clause in his contract. I wouldn’t be surprised to see us making a left field appointment

 
Lennon would jump at it. Dunfermline are going nowhere. He’d make it happen.

Wouldn’t be my choice though.

I hate to say it, but he's got to go.  I really wanted it to work, but if you cut through the bluster the results aren't good enough, the mood in the camp seems to be crap (IMO) despite Goodwin trying to paper over the cracks in the press and there doesn't appear to be any real fight in the squad.

Whilst I think the payer trading model is potentially a decent way to go, you can't go into it head first.  You have to have a spine to the team with an element of 'tradeable' players.  We have a squad entirely built with players that the club hope have big resale values.  I think that there are far too many younger players with potential in the squad to the point that there are no real experienced heads there to guide them through games and to help them improve.  We need a Darren Dods/John Rankin/Jon Daly type of player at the club who can lead and guide the younger players.

The derby was a clusterfck.  A combination of a bad starting 11, too many changes from the previous week, poor coaching (no idea what to do in the final third of the pitch, or how to effectively close players down), starting players who clearly aren't match fit (Merghem) and starting players who clearly aren't good enough (Metsoko).

I could go on, but I just don't have the will to.

Clarke - please no. Undoubtedly an effective manager and no way I think he would be looking to come to us. But anyways. He is just a more effective, boring, turgid version of Goodwin and without the charisma. I actually quite like Jim despite the fact it is time for him to go.

I don’t really want any of the names the posters on the forums come up with. I want the club to find an effective manager from a global talent pool. One of their most important jobs.

I probably mentioned this before, but, does anyone have any idea how much we would have to pay to get Simo Valikari? To me he possesses every quality which Goodwin lacks.

Taking Kilmarnock from the bottom of the league to 3rd place , with a record points total and European qualification in 12 months is not the sort of stuff we would want at Tannadice.
