Owen Stirton

Since he scored down at Rugby Park in the League Cup he has played three minutes for Utd (an injury time sub for Moller in our 3-1 home win vs St.Mirren in October).

Also hasn't been sent to Airdrie as part of the Co-operation loan agreement.

Wtf is Goodwin playing at? The boys development is getting halted.

Same can be said of Sam Cleall-Harding, Calvin Beattie and Scotty Constable.

None of these boys are getting any football time. Terrible man management.

Re: Owen Stirton

I’ve seen a lot more from Stirton than than I ever have from Moller. I actually think he’s a downgrade on VDS based on what he’s shown so far.

I’d also bin 3 at the back next weekend and go with Graham and SCH as our back two. He’s never let us down but isn’t getting a look in even though the defenders we’ve signed are making mistake after mistake every week.

Re: Owen Stirton

Have had same complaint about Goodwin since he joined the club. Never gives the young lads a chance even when senior players are playing terrible.

Re: Owen Stirton

I was crying for him to come on yesterday with 30 mins left. Moller is absolute dung.

Folk took Van der Sande’s goalless run as a bit of fun last season, wonder if they’ll do the same with Moller, cause I think he’s just as likely to get a goal as Jort was. The boy’s positioning is terrible, he’s anywhere but between the posts.

Re: Owen Stirton

100% this

I actually thought Jort was good at holding up the ball and being physical

Moller is tall but more wasteful

Stirton as exciting prospect and can score goals

Definitely the same with SCH

Don’t understand why more young players are not given game time

Jort definitely wasn’t the answer either, just cause he’s slightly better than Moller doesn’t mean we weren’t right to get rid of him. Stirton’s a better player than either of them.

Likewise, I haven’t seen anything from the centre halves we brought in that makes me think they’re any better then SCH

Re: Owen Stirton

Stirton isn't near ready to start games and to say he's better than Moller is just wrong.

Re: Owen Stirton

Based on what I have seen Stirton is already several times better than Moller despite being given a fraction of the opportunities because he is Scottish.

I don't think he's ready to be a regular starter, but I think he's certainly more of a goal threat from the bench than Moller.

The stats would back that up too.

Moller is this seasons VDS. You just know he's never scoring. Rarely gets in the position too.

Re: Owen Stirton

Liked the look of Stirton (god knows when that was) last time I saw him.
Muscled up considerably.
Like other posters I'm struggling to see how we can give oppostion 1v0 lead for 9 games and not give SCH a run.

Re: Owen Stirton

And people are surprised when boys like Domeracki and Forbes leave very early

The pathway to the First Team is an absolute myth.

How much money is being poured into the youth setup for them to sit on the bench or play on loan for other clubs? If we had brilliant players i'd understand but boys like Iovu and Moller keeping Stirton and SCH out the team speaks volumes.

Either our "academy graduates" are not as good as we make out or the manager is scared to play them/doesn't believe in youth.

Re: Owen Stirton

You need to be careful with playing young players particularly when the team is struggling .
However we do appear to have gone from playing youngsters before they are ready under fat Tony to be being overly cautious with Stirton & SCH.
