What are we saying to it?
I think they are over egging the profit - im not a banker but not really sure what ebitda measures which is the highlight they are pushing....
However, despite my scepticism over the narrative the club are putting forward, ot does look like real efforts are being made to make the club sustainable and i'm pretty chuffed with that. Better to be sustainable than either up to our eyes in debt or relying on handouts from owners. (Albeit its the first step in a new approach)
Astonishing that we've reduced the wage bill be 2m a year and been more successful too. On a weekly basis, thats approc 39k a week reduction.
I think it shows a lot of hard work has been done by the manager, recruitment team and a load of others within the club which should be applauded

Can anyone explain what the term "accounting interest charges" means?
Described as notional non cash items ??

It’s essentially the interest on loans to the company. So Dundee Utd owe Mark Ogren about £8m. If Ogren was commercial lender the club would have to pay £400,000 pa to service the debt.
EBITDA is just a measure of operational activities (before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation is included).
For me the turnover figure is really impressive and getting the percentage of wages to turnover down to 61% is great. That, of course has to be put in context when we consider the profligate expenditure of the previous regime. I really think Ross Goodwin’s clear out and recruitment was nothing short of brilliant.
Unfortunately the fact remains that Ogren is still owed a lot of money. We know that he is looking to offload the club. The tax case will not help.

Thanks Bonzo.
Over the last year or 2 you can definitely see that the commercial department have been fantastic. Every avenue of revenue generation has been on full power.

Player sales in that year amounted to just £310k?
Can't recall who we parted company with but Brandon Forbes was definitely one, any others you can think of?

If I havnae done link right do a cut and paste, or go to Investopedia.
As MacBonzo says it is a widely (but not universally) recogized simplification for earnings once you've paid off whatever Accountants come up with for Interest + Tax + Debt + Amortization.
Good Accountants = true reflection of the books.
Shonky Accountants => shonky figures.

Cheers, knew there was at least one more. I'm thinking 310k seems light just for Forbes alone.

Potentially the deal is structured to be paid in installments? Ie 100k per window for x transfer windows?
