United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

Starting XI and formation for Wednesday's big match?

Re: United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

If only Craig Sibbald was match fit I'd be starting him. We'll have to play better than Saturday if we want the points.

I want to see width return to our play and more midfield control so I'm going 3412, Babunski at the top of a midfield 3.

Walton

Adegboyega Gallagher Graham
Strain Svelj Stephenson Ferry
Babunski
Dalby Middleton

Been underwhelmed by Campbell so far, early days I know but Stephenson ahead of Campbell just for energy. If Luca isn't at it, swap for Fiorini.

This, but with Moult in for Jort.  Moult knows where the net is.  Jort doesn't.

Moult has a calf injury

Wasn't aware of that.  I'd play Paton then instead of Jort.  I don't think Jort is up to much, certainly not as a goal getter.

Think it will be this lineup. They've not lost a game in almost 3 months so Goodwin will play it super conservative. No chance of starting with wingers.

FWIW, I thought hibs performance at Tannadice in October was one of the better performances from an away side this season, and if it hadn't been for some very dodgy goalkeeping that allowed the equaliser and subsequent Meshack SCENES then they would have comfortably won the last time round. Hoping for a more exciting game than Saturday at least

Re: United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

It wouldn't take much to be our best performance of the season but where that would come from is anyone's guess.

Based on your comment that Hibs played well last time at Tannadice, which I totally agree with would you not agree that JG should play it cautiously

The part of me who wants a result says yes he should go conservative.

The football fan part of me wants him to sacrifice Jort and Stephenson for Middleton and Trap and go tit for tat under the Tannadice lights

The best form of defence is attack.

Agreed hibs were decent team getting fucked over by the goalie, don’t think his replacement is much better mind you.

Really hard game tomorrow but tannadice under the lights canna beat it

Re: United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

Hibs would’ve won up here if Joe Newell wasn’t sent off also. They played decent. It also took a 90th min penalty for us to equalise down there. I’m not too confident about tonight, for our top 6 push, i wouldn’t mind a point.

Jim saying Craig Sibbald will be in the squad, big boost to the bench that is.

Re: United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

I actually think a draw is a good result and fancy our chances of getting a victory away to the sheep more than I do a home win tonight.

Re: United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

Yet another window of not signing any pace up front is costing us here. Hibs playing with such a high line as we offer nothing in behind.

BTW, any chance of getting one of those petitions going where they talk about it parliament under the name "ban declan Gallagher from playing long diagonals".

Re: United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

Fuck VAR
Farce.
Get rid or benifit of the doubt should go to attacking team.

And as for thon Dickison don't get me started. See the goal kick that lead to their 2nd - no way could it have done anything other than be deflected  miles in the air for a corner.

Thought Hibs were good (we let them) but overall we were better. Although Jim knew they would press high and let them.

MOTM nominees: Dalby, Sevelj, Campell, Strain, and of course Ferry.
Winner: Ross Graham, class
Special mention: Oor Willie, great to see him back
Beginning to be a worry: Paton

Re: United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

Absolutely baffling from the ref tonight, absolutely awful all night, we’ve been proper done in from him tonight.

Manny was dreadful- he’s unbelievably bad in the air , Campbell so disappointed in what he’s offering atm- not quite sure what i was expecting but he no better than Stephenson/sibbald and absolutely no where near the standard of sevelj, Paton also actually thought he was gonna be a decent signing but he’s also not up to much.

Absolute sickner to lose that in the end, we were honking in the first half but definitely the better team in the second.

Big game Sunday, Goodwin has got to be tempted to ditch the 5 at the back and get some wingers in the team

Re: United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

Dickson was the referee for the st Mirren penalty and killie goal, Goodwin has to come out and cement him in the media

Re: United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

That was a sickner. Even first half but in the second we were the better team overall.

Get var to fuck. Get Dickinson to fuck. Get 3-5-2 to fuck.

Re: United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

Agree with Mario above on his points. Going to ignore the shambolic VAR and refereeing.

Goodwin's got to admit that he's been found out tactically now. We may have scored once (twice) tonight but they both came from set pieces and, much like other games this season, realistically we never looked like scoring tonight from open play.

Felt from the off that they were the only team that looked like winning tonight. Very, very poor tonight.

Re: United vs Hibs - Wednesday 26th February

Just seen the goal, I’m even more raging, it’s a tight offside call on Dalby because they can’t draw the lines they’ve fabricated it’s hits his arm, blatant blatant cheating

Goodwin has bottled it tonight he should have fucking crucified them on the radio
