We hadn't won in six weeks. Very important to just win today, the clean sheet is a bonus.
We had to stop the rot.
Very hard game midweek, where we will have to be at our best to take something.
Feel sorry for Ross Docherty. That is him almost certainly finished at United, and it isn't looking good for his career full-stop. He's reminding me of Peter Pawlett. His body just doesn't seem capable of professional football anymore.
Have to hope Sibbald is ready for some action very soon.
You could see he was visibly upset going off, really felt for the lad.
I thought he was our best player on pitch today for the 30 mins he was on, hopefully back for a few games in a couple of weeks time.

I also felt a bit sorry for Ross and am still not sure that Campbell and Paton are any better than what we already had. Agree the 3 points are all that matters but felt frustrated that
Jim could have sent on the wingers to try and win the game instead of holding on.

Absolutely devastated for docherty, could see how gutted he was, it’s so frustrating he can’t get a run of games together, he was showing how valuable he can be to the team.
Agreed that the result is all that mattered today, dalbys goal is a a brillaint header and cross from strain.
1 thing I will mention, banunski being binned for florini is utterly bizarre, don’t get me wrong I don’t think Babunski was playing brilliant but he’s certainly a better player than florini

How we got there was exactly as most of us thought we would.
Very uneasy on the eye, lots of needless passing around at the back and in general playing without any real cutting edge.
I couldn't give a hoot all the same, this side look all but certain to claim a top 6 spot and that is more than acceptable for out first season back.
Great to see big Ross Graham back in the side and playing well.
JGTA
The passing about at the back is really annoying but it appeared to be Goodwin’s plan to tire them out with the high pressing game they deployed. I just find it boring and frustrating.
Graham will only get better with more regular games under his belt. The really disappointing thing yesterday was Docherty getting injured again. To me alongside Ferry he was the best player on the park in that first half hour. The problem being we never look as good without him in the team.

Docherty's injury happened because he was sold short by a piss-poor pass from Campbell despite only being about 5 yards away and had to commit to 70-30 challenge that was not in his favour (which Doc still won). If I was Docherty I'd have given Campbell a slap in the dressing room at half-time.
Folk around me were talking as if Campbell had a great game. Imho he was better than last week (not hard) but considering the level he's played at, he doesn't get on the ball enough and doesn't exactly bust a gut to press either. He just seems to trundle about at one pace. Roll on Sibbald coming back.

Found a lot oe the gehm awfy dour, esp. the 1st 20 mins. There was mair troughs than crests in the gehm.
Highlight was definitely the goal, but we shoulda had it wrapped up in the 1st half. The number oe opportunities we had in both halfs.
Motherwell were pretty sh1te. Nae winner for Wimmer thank phuck.
Sorry to see Docherty trotting aff. Ye could tell he was struggling fae the kick-off.
As for that Ref. He'd be better we a clapperboard, the number oe stops in continuity he provided.
We'll need to go up a couple gears fir the Heebee jeebees on Wednesday. Gonna be a tough gehm.
Motm for me Ferry.
PS Tek. Has the Server been ok. Couldna get on Tekel Towers late last night, or earlier this morning.

That game defined our season so winning was vital. Had we lost or even drawn there would have been a very bad feel round the ground. So a tremendous (yeah, that good) result incl clean sheet so well done all.
But....again it was turgid. What's been our best win this season, I honestly can't remember a single game where we've gone out and taken the game to the opposition. But we've been 3rd & 4th in the league which is bizarre really & says a lot more about the quality of the other teams rather than us.
Yesterday we had one concerted effort in the entire game which had me looking at the clock and saying to my mate, 'we've waited 81 minutes for that'.
It's being a really funny season & now here come buoyant Hibs on Wednesday, smarting from their last visit here.
Fasten your seatbelts.
