Here's another ane for ye Roger.
On the road hame, me and another Arab bumped into to twa Dundee supporters just across fae the Paulies school.
We were doddling up Bruce St speaking to them about the match and the result and the Season and Docherty and Goodwin.
The other United supporter sayed he was going up to see if his m8 was in up the Kinghorne Rd before he went hame. The Dundee lads sayed they'd mibbee go to the High Coarner.
As we were coming to the coarner at the Kinghorne Rd, the boy sayed he forgot that his Grandkids were visiting, and he'd better get hame to see them before they went hame, so he started to walk forward a wee bit. It was busy we cars at the coarner, but the boy managed to get across the road before us.
There was this daft wifie singing and shouting in her gaerden. Guess she was celebrating Dundee's win. Don't know if they knew each other because we heard the boy asking her if she'd been at the match. She muttered a loada shite and the boy went awa doon the road.
1 of the Dundee supporters sayed has she been on the glue. The other boy sayed we better no go near her incase she puts a spell on us. Wooooooh. We then went our separate ways.

Not enjoying the write-off Moult narrative.
He's a very astute centre forward with bags of experience, a consumate pro.
I would not underestimate him.
He may not score 20 goals this season (nor might VDS) but I'd like to see him more often than not.
I would have started him on Sunday but I'm not over at St Andrews.
And what about tthe Moult song mid 2nd half prior to him coming on, I thougfht that was class.
Louis Louis Moult for me.

Also wouldn't write off Moult, but I do think he has quite a bit to prove. Didn't think he was great last season and this is a big step back up. I thought the Moult song was cringe. VDS was working hard as feck and was rewarded with the fans demanding his substitution - not a good look. Substitution then made (too late as per Goodwin's usual) and Moult does absolutely nothing.

I think he's a lot to prove as well but I think he will.
Everyone, not just Moult, has to be 'stepping up' this season, tired reading about it cos it's rather obvious.
Surely the substitution couldn't have been too late if you think he did nothing when he came on, but I get your drift.
I think he did every bit as well as VDS was doing despite it not being the easiest of times to be brought on.

Oh and the song, I hope VDS wasn't taking it personally but it shows Moult has a few fans in the ETL.

Disagree that he did as well as VDS, but also accept that he wasn't really given a chance (due to the substitution being too late). I'm not overly confident that Moult will step up (think he's lost the acceleration needed to play the game he used to), but he's an intelligent player so hoping he can figure out how to contribute in this set-up. Suspect that is generally going to be off the bench, but who knows!

Still breathless. Thriller.
Thoughts in no particular order:
- Goodwin made a decision wi shape and personnel at the back and with the one exception - their 2nd - it worked. Credit to unsung hero Holt.
- Good contrast in the sides which to me bodes well for season to come. Us largely class wi journeyman concrete as opposed to Dees, journeymen wi Tiffoney the standout. FTD.
Dinnae think I should be naming individuals so good, so fast and so accurate was link up play and finishing. Talking of which to be having a go at Trapper for hes miss - harsh, very harsh, he was out by a ba hair.
- VDS tireless, great target.
- Sibbs likewise tireless, no as positive so far this year but still effective at breaking up opposition play.
- Big Barista - ahm hearing a this about how hes only one footed - well you'd barely know.
- Bubanski, Trapper, Sevelj - again, class and taking to Scottish fitba like ducks to water.
- The young Thompson, like I said on earlier post - gold, a joy to watch, RB RWB and RW
- Substitutions mebbe left a bitty late, Odada early days I know but I've (hope ahm wrong) got ma doubts.
- Ref I thought excellent, barely knew he was there, let them go hammer and tongs.
- VAR ffs - if we must have it it has to be done right - in particular offside leading up to penalty. I know we've been spoiled by Euro's where a knuckle off is picked up, but here we've a linesman, by definition in line calls it off, ref agrees. ...... Now do Clydesdale sponsorship officials make decision based on same DUTV feed that I watched ? Because if they do it's a cast iron fundamental impossibility of mathematics to make a decision based on a camera angle 20 degrees off the prescribed offside line.
Get rid.

I take it "Big Barista" is Ross Graham?
I'll tell you what, if he had a right foot he wouldn't have given away the penalty.

Also if he had a wee bit of pace....

I notice Big Barista has put a yard or two on his throw-in compared to last season.
It does look decidedly odd right enough.
Could be useful tho, worth half a dozen goals a season?

Big Garista: born Visocchiville
Penalty: agree, but harsh on the laddie. You might also add if he'd stepped forward 6 inches VAR would have got it right .... or equally he had stepped out enough in first place and VAR was wrong (or rather refs call based on VAR-shambles.)
Pace: agree to some extent particularly when turned. but would say he's a good reader of the game and will crib back another half yard turning into tackles on preferred foot.
Throw ins: Yeah he does have a funny side on action, but geez gets some length on it. Good weapon.
