Hearing Scott Fraser close to signing
Hope this isn't true, far too easily brushed off the ball for my liking.
Very similar to levitt.

Boy on Peh +Bovril saying Fraser played for charlton today

I've asked someone who knows him and it's "far from being completed"

I'm surprised he'd want to come back but would be very happy if he did.
There's not many players can play in his position.

If we played him as an attacking mid then I could get on board with him coming back.
If we play him as a deep lying CDM like we did with Levitt then it will be a waste of time and ruin the lads undoubted quality (as we seen with Levitt).

My Hertz supporting colleagues thought Fraser was rotten for them. Still, we know he has talent and hopefully his time down in England would see him coming back as a more all-round player. If he signs that is of course.

Not arsed if he comes back or not, but I what I am arsed about is reading the constant rhetoric of how we hounded him out, treated him disgracefully yadda yadda.
Folk must've been going to watch different games to me, I heard mumbles, groans, the odd shout, nothing like what some would have you believe.
Of course the type of player he was, he was never going to steam into tackles, but you don't want him shiteing himself, pulling out, there also appeared at times to be a lack of effort/energy.
Now, of course, playing down south may well have toughened him up and if so and the manager feels he can be the difference maker then fine.
We can't judge him on his previous spell, we can only judge him on what he does it he signs and as always the fans will back a player if they feel he's giving his all.

Are 'mumbles & groans & the odd shout' not enough?
And you might add being boo'ed on scoring a goal.
Yadda yadda.

If players can't handle "mumbles and groans and the odd shout" then they are probably better sticking to junior football and staying out of the public eye. It's men's football not fucking choir practice. Anyone booing a player for scoring is a fucking idiot though and should be thoroughly disregarded as such.

Fraser is under contract, so would his club be looking for a fee, would we be expected to pay big wages?
I suppose if he's been in talks, the club will be aware of all the ins and outs.
Would be nice to get a couple more in asap, whilst i'm more than happy with recruitment so far, there has been the odd soundbite about getting our business done in time for the league season starting.
The season starts on Saturday.
Goodwin still appears to divide opinion amongst the fans, starting off this season by not progressing as winners of the league cup group will bring pressure, it should be a clean slate for all, but in reality that rarely happens.

Probably not the worst thing to happen at this stage. Dismisses any thoughts Goodwin might've had that Docherty would be fine after rest and a good pre-season, which he stated last season. Time to find a replacement.

The team was so much better with him than without him last season, this is a huge blow. Not sure why you can't see that tbh

As much as i like the lad and think he's a decent player it's time to wash our hands of him.
Try and move him on. Can't be having a player on the books who's only available for 50% of our games.
We need midfielders in ASAP now as only really have Sibbald who can play centre mid.

What I meant was, it's better Doc breaking down now than once the transfer window is shut and we've gambled on his fitness by not signing a backup. We now know we absolutely need to sign a backup.
We're absolutely a better team with him in it.

Yeah fair point although Goodwin has said he wants to add a couple of center mids though.

Based on what? We haven't even signed anyone yet but you've got him playing second fiddle to an as yet unknown quantity? We should be signing players who want to fight for the jersey not guaranteed first picks.

I want to ideally sign better, and proven.
And Docherty to be the back up.

I remember we got relegated with a bunch of better and proven players last time out. Docherty when fit belongs in this team.

I don't think anyone that watched us play last season doubts that.
But it's the fitness but that's alarming. Sign a player we think might be a better option, more reliable, if Docherty stays fit then you play the new guy alongside him, then you work out where Sibbald plays.

Well, I class him as unreliable. 31 and hasn’t kicked a ball in the Prem, so I’m wary
