Liam Fox OUT

We need to get real and fast, we are in a relegation battle now and we need a manager that can sort out this lot.

We are all over the shop, cannae defend cross balls and don't compete.

I think we have the quality to get out but just need the coaching to improve in order to start picking up points.

We are now cut adrift with Killie and Ross County but I wouldn't bet on us winning a dog fight with any of them.

It's absolutely soul destroying watching us at present,  like a repeat of 15/16.

Change it now before it's too fuckin late.

Re: Liam Fox OUT

Unless we sign a competent goalkeeper it won’t matter who our manager is.

Re: Liam Fox OUT

Completely disagree with original post. There is no-one better than Liam Fox that would realistically come to United.

We chopped and changed managers in the relegation season, it didn't work, and the team went down.

Let's stick with Liam.

Re: Liam Fox OUT

You have a point Snacks with the keeper it's very difficult to stay up with a keeper that the defence has no confidence in and that evident.

But how long do we go before we take some action and try to salvage our premiership status.

Spot on.

However, that doesn't mean we should sign any available goalkeeper, Kawashima was a nightmare in 2016. We need someone who can do all the key parts of being a keeper right away, who is ready to play in Scotland.

In the meantime, maybe stick with one keeper and work hard on coaching him and the defense to work together.

The goalie coach no doubt is asked prior to recruitment on the goalkeeping front, 2016 was a disaster as you point out above.

It would be insane to ask the same guy to recommend a keeper 6 years later wouldn't it.

We need someone in now to evaluate this random bunch of guys that have been lobbed together.

We won't be more than 6/7 points adrift by the time we return after the world cup, let's not waste that time.

Most of our problems stem from the recruitment signings in the summer where we signed guys far too late and them not completing a pre season.

Re: Liam Fox OUT

Liam Fox isn’t good enough, neither was Jack Ross. We signed 2 utter shite goalkeepers that aren’t good enough for the top league.

Both of these decisions come from Tony Asghar.

Get yourself to fuck now, Asghar.

Re: Liam Fox OUT

Fox won't go anywhere before January minimum imo.

So we should probably try to piss with the cook that we've got. Keepers are a nightmare and I'd imagine 1 will be off at least. I'm dissapointed in that I thought birighetti would do better given a chance. Maybe it's the defence screwing him over. I know black rooster is injured but whys Graham not getting in the team?

A decent run of a few wins could see us mid table. I do wonder about the assumption thst the 'league is shiite' - it's just tight. Every team has the capability to go on a run... but we need to tighten up at the back

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Re: Liam Fox OUT

Actually disagree also.

Personnel is more important than the manager, we're missing a reliable GK, a CB and a Defensive midfielder, so about half the spine of a team.

I don't think the manager is the issue at all, since he took over he's put in place a shape which has kept us in games, but we're still shipping soft goals due mostly to the GK and 2 full backs playing CB situation. I'm not convinced that Ross Graham is the answer either..

Pretty much in agreement with all of that.
Fox has the team organised and motivated.
It just that some of them are pretty poor.
GK is the major problem, pretty sure Siegrist would have saved the goal yesterday.
We're in deep shit but have to stay behind the team , not call for the managers to go go quicker than Liz Truss.
Also not sure about Graham,  he played his way out of the team and was abysmal against St Johnstone

Respectfully I disagree Morphman.

My case in point would be Livingston, nobody could convince me that player for player they are better than us. What advantage they have is that they are well drilled and would run through a proverbial brick wall for their manager.

Since the appointment of Fox, he has reverted back to the system used last season, the difference is that with Mulgrew is missing and his experience to help young Graham.

I get that most of the problems were not created by Fox, but right now we look like 11 guys that were out on the piss the night before and the manager has let the captain pick the team.

It's only heading in one direction I'm afraid and as much as I hate saying it, he needs to go.

Liz Truss was a disaster and so is Fox.

You seriously must be going to different games than me if you think that team are organised and motivated.

I have some sympathies with him regarding the keeper, but we lose the same goal every week. What are we doing to prevent and defend cross balls?

We have a different midfield every week also.

It needs to change and we need to use the World cup period to get a team organised that can keep us in this league.

Re: Liam Fox OUT

Fox is what he is and he shouldn't be even remotely close to managing a club like ours at this stage in his career.

However, he's not really to blame for where we currently find ourselves.  He's not responsible for the lack of a balanced squad, the two duff keepers, the aging sicknotes, the lack of resource at centre half, the inability of the wing backs to defend, the lack of a competent holding/ball winning midfielder a wholly toothless attack, the lack of quality from our Academy or the insistence on bringing in an array of foreign misfits that any other decent team has already overlooked but our Sporting Director thinks our coaching team can turn into saleable assets.

No, there is only one man at the club who is responsible for all of that.  Until he goes we'll be served up the same level of mediocrity and stand a very good chance of being down in the league of fun with the Fun.

I don't think he's to blame either but he has been on the coaching staff for a while so he has to take some responsibility for the inability of the wing backs to defend, ball winning midfielder, toothless attack and lack of quality from the academy.

Agreed 90%
Only thing I'd add is how long does it take for the axe to fall on Fat Tony's neck ?   - Down to Mr O.
I wouldnae include Behich as being a foreign misfits, for me he takes the field and wears his heart on his sleeve.

Re: Liam Fox OUT

Sadly Ogren loves Asghar and we’re stuck with him.

Pressure from the fans should be rammed up.

Pressure from fans will result in one thing and one thing only - Mark Ogren walking away, then where will the club be?

My suggestion is that we as fans rally round the players and managers in the three crucial games before the break.

Re: Liam Fox OUT

He won't get close to the money he has put in. He has kind of been led down a garden path by the revolution sports mob imo. For every good decision the club makes there are two terrible ones behind it. The club need to be on the front foot and be proactive. Constantly being reactive and having to deal with situations.

Killie Tuesday night drop the prices get 8000/9000 in, give away free tickets to the schools if need be. Take a hit on the match day income but they three points would be so beneficial going into the Aberdeen 6pm game. Folk will turn up. Fans are desperate for us to be doing well after last season.

You've got to hope the executioner has been sharpening his blade.  Agree with you on Behich, I was meaning more the ones that Tony insists we buy because he thinks he'll make money on them (Hoti, Niskanen, Anaku, Cudjoe, Eriksson, Birighitti, Harkes, Sporle) probably only Fuchs has fallen into the good player, made money on him bracket.  Is that enough? 1 success in around 10 long shots.  Can our club sustain 10 longshots over a short period?

I'm pleased that Mark Ogren took a gamble on us, but I am now at the stage that if Tony Asghar is considered a permanent fixture whatever then I think it is best for Mr O to sell up.

What if Tony Asghar has got the money to buy our Club, cat amongst the pigeons & shades of Marrism.

*btw the Killie game is next Wednesday, not Tuesday.

If Tony Asghar had the money to buy our club he wouldn't be our sporting director - he'd be far too important for that.  I wouldn't however rule out the possibility that he is trying to reduce the value of our club to a level that might allow him to buy it.  Would make sense of the Lewis Neilson fiasco....(tongue firmly in cheek emoji )
