Re: Utd v Celtic - 28/8/22 (Noon)

5311 formation with width coming from full backs and play a narrow tight midfield
Erikson
Freeman
Edwards
Graham
Mulgrew
Mcmann
Levitt
Sibbald
Harkes
Mcgrath
Fletcher
Mcgrath playing just behind fletcher

Re: Utd v Celtic - 28/8/22 (Noon)

Here is our starting XI when we drew 1-1 with Celtic back in May. Interestingly this was the last time Tony Watt never started a game for Utd.

...............................Benji.......................
.........Smith.........Edwards.....McMann
Freeman..Meekison..Levitt..McDonald..Niskanen
...................MacLeod...Clark......

On the night the system worked a treat, particularly when Mulgrew came on for Kev McDonald and we actually started dominating the game. Think a similar 3-5-2 system is our best bet on Sunday, and i would 100% drop Watt again. Think McGrath and Behich deserve dropped also, both been bowfing so far.

Our Academy boys like Freeman, Meekison and MacLeod deserve a chance imo.

I'd keep the team very similar to the one that played so well in that 1-1 draw actually.

My team would be -

....................................Eriksson...............
....................Smith.......Edwards....Mulgrew......
Freeman..Meekison..Levitt..Harkes..Niskanen
...........................MacLeod...Fletcher........

Subs - Birighitti, Watt, Cudjoe, Clark, McGrath
Graham, Sibbald, Middleton, McMann

Your team has 3 from the academy--I predict Ross to play one at most. I would hate to see Graham end up like Neilson at Hearts but would anyone blame him if Ross continues to leave him out of the leakiest defence in Scotland!!

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.

Not sure what team or formation Jack will go for. Showed last season that if we go into the game with energy and commitment we can match them and anything less won't do.

Re: Utd v Celtic - 28/8/22 (Noon)

Celtics first visit to Tannadice lat year despite only finishing 3-0 was the most one sided game I've seen in over 50yrs of watching the Terrors.
The gap between Celtgers and the rest is growing, the champions league money will increase it even further.
Hopefully we don't have a similar weekend to Bournemouth

Jack Ross must go tonight.

I'd be fining every single player the maximum amount after that performance as well.

Take a step back and a breath FFS. We're all hurting but changing manager yet again achieves nothing.

Re: Utd v Celtic - 28/8/22 (Noon)

If Ross walks then my first call would be to Levein to come in as interim manager to sort this team defensively.

I wouldn't want him back permanently, very much past his prime, but he knows how to make a team hard to beat if fuck all else. If he could do that for a few weeks while we scour the globe for a new manager before appointing Adam Asghar then I'll take it.

Players have absolutely chucked it

You have to be a fan from another team on the wind up. Just utter pish in every post.

Re: Utd v Celtic - 28/8/22 (Noon)

52 this year and just witnessed the worst home performance from my team in that time.  This has been coming. The guy that is running the club doesn’t know what he’s doing. The manager has lost the changing room.

You generally get too much gip on here, but you do yourself no favours with this.

Just fuck off.

Our worst ever home result in our history. 24 goals in 4 games with 2 scored. The club is a mess. Action needs taken now.

Re: Utd v Celtic - 28/8/22 (Noon)

Apart fae the fact that Eh thought the 3rd and 4th goals were affside, that was phuckin pathetic.

We were dae'in aright up until the 3rd goal went in. 99% certain it was affside. So did the players. And that's where their haeds went doon.

Looked like everytime Celtic took a shot on target, they were gonna score. 9 goals oot oe 13.

And here's me thinking we had few Internationals in the squad.

No, you take a step back. The club has been humiliated, the Ogrens are £10m in debt, we have a Sporting Director who talks about “philosophy” and shirks accountability. No amount of “elite” this, “Executive” that, “High Performance” the next thing obscures the fact we are a laughing stock.

Of course, there will be attempt to scapegoat Ross, but, who the hell will want the job? Our system of running the club is flawed and everyone knows it.

All I'm saying is NO manager should be sacked following a heavy defeat to the old firm. These teams compete with Real Madrid and Dortmund. We cannot beat them unless they play terribly.

Obviously today was embarrassing, humiliating and shameful. I feel that as much as anyone.

But sacking the manager tonight would achieve absolutely nothing. Let's take a step back, see how the Livingston and Motherwell games go, then see what happens.

I expect a mammoth reaction from every player on Wednesday.

The club has progressed massively since Ogren and Asghar came in. It doesn't feel like it tonight, but it has.

I'm just calling for a bit of calm.

Taking a step back means looking at all results. And since beating AZ at Tannadice we have been abysmal. Our keepers are hopeless, defensively we are all over the shop. Our midfield is powder puff and non existent and our strikers are completely ineffective as a result. We have conceded 24 goals and scored 1. Something has to give, JRs record combined with his record at Hibs before he was sacked there makes for grim reading.

That being said there appears to be a malaise growing at the club that's more than just the manager and it needs addressed urgently.

It's the fans fault though. Toxic cunts spreading rumours. The business we've done is superb. Great hashtag as well.

Too much commotion

We've averaged a 6-0 defeat in our last four games. If that's not termination territory your standards are abysmally low and you've lost your mind.

Ross should be calmly shown the door.

Re: Utd v Celtic - 28/8/22 (Noon)

My son was telling me UTD have averaged losing a goal every 16 min of football this season and can't believe we only had 1 booking today and from where I was sitting that was harsh. The lack of fight in this team is embarrassing
