Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

Yesterday (Sat 30/7) in Scottish League One.

Jack Newman played the entire 90 minutes in goals for Peterhead in their home clash against Airdrieonians. But it was a disappointing afternoon for Jim McInally's side as the Diamonds registered a 0-2 away win.

Also in League One, Finn Robson was an unused sub in Kelty Hearts 0-2 home loss to Edinburgh City.

Also on Sat (20/7), Declan Glass made his debut for Derry City and a tremendous debut it was too as he bagged a hat-trick and two assists for the Candystripes in their whopping 7-0 home win against Oliver Bond FC in the 1st Round of the FAI Cup. Recently departed Utd Centre Half, Mark Connolly also bagged himself a debut goal for the Northern Irish side.

Re: Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

Saturday (6/8/22) in the Scottish League One -

Chris Mochrie came off the bench for Dunfermline Athletic to make his debut away to Edinburgh City and subsequently scored on the 72nd minute, to seal a fine 0-3 win for the Pars. This win takes the Fifers joint top of the league on points, in the early days of the league season.

Also in League One -

Jack Newman played the full 90 minutes for Peterhead in their 2-2 away draw to Clyde. The draw helped the Blue Toon register their first point of the season on the league table.

Finn Robson played the full 90 minutes for Kelty Hearts in their 3-1 away defeat to Alloa Athletic. It's been a poor start to the League One campaign for the Fifers as they remain pointless and rooted to the bottom of the table.

Re: Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

I think this is a great opportunity for Mochrie to shine.  You'd think Dunfermline should walk that league this year and if he can build some confidence I think he could still play a big part at Tannadice in the future

Early days but the Dunfermline fans really seem to have liked what they saw

Re: Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

On Friday (12/8) evening, Declan Glass played the first 57 minutes for Derry City in their 0-0 home draw against Irish Premier League Leaders, Shamrock Rovers.

On Saturday afternoon (13/8/) in Scottish League One, Chris Mochrie climbed off the Dunfermline bench on the 58th minute and helped the Pars register a narrow 1-0 home win against Montrose. This result has the Fifers sitting at the top of the table.

Adam Hutchinson started the game for Montrose, but unfortunately picked up an injury and had to be replaced just 20 minutes in.

Also in League One on Sat (13/8), Jack Newman played the full game in goals for Peterhead in their 3-1 away defeat to Falkirk. It's been a disappointing start of the season for Jim McInally's side, who lie 2nd bottom of the table.

The side occupying bottom spot (and on zero points) are Kelty Hearts. For whom Finn Robson was an unused substitute in their 3-0 away loss to Clyde FC.

Last night (Friday 26/8), Declan Glass climbed off the bench on the 60th minute to help Derry City win 2-0 at home against Cork City in the FAI Cup, to help them progress through to the Quarter Final stages of the tournament.

Not Loan Watch sorry but can I just nip in to say I hope having a glut of midfielders will still allow Archie Meekison to get a game.

He wont. Ross dosnt rate our academy, all the feel good from last year is gone.

Re: Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

Yesterday afternoon (Sat 27/8) in Scottish League One, Jack Newman had a day to forget between the sticks as his Peterhead side were hammered 5-0 away at Alloa. The defeat takes Jim McInally's side to the bottom of the division.

The side who are just above them in the table (on goal difference) is Kelty Hearts, who were beaten 3-0 away to Montrose. Finn Robson was an unused substitute for the Fifers. Adam Hutchison was an unused substitute for the home side.

Chris Mochrie started and played the full 90 minutes for Dunfermline in their 1-1 home draw with Airdrieonians. The score draw puts the Fifers joint top of the table, just behind the lanarkshire side on goal difference.

In League Two, Kai Fotheringham came off the bench on the 11th minute for Stirling Albion, but to no avail as 'The Binos' lost 1-0 away too Bonnyrigg Rose. They remain 4th in the table.

Re: Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

Kai Fotheringham scored 2 good goals for Stirling

Chris Mochrie ran the 2nd half according to James Mckpake and was unlucky not to score a wonder goal for Dunfermline

Declan Glass on the Bench for Derry tonight, another loan where he's not had a sniff

Whats happening with Logan Chalmers? not even making the squads anymore and yet no loan ?

Re: Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

@Dufc2019

I can only surmise Logan Chalmers has turned down a move somewhere and has been phased out of first team squads as a punishment.

Even Miller Thomson made the bench ahead of him yesterday.

Re: Utd Loan Watch - 22/23

It's not looking good for Declan Glass, in that this is another loan move where he is seeing little game time.

The plan was for him to go to Derry, get really fit and be ready to kick on for us post-World Cup.

As it is, i can only see him leaving the club in January. Which given the natural ability we know he has will be a shame.

But there comes a time he has to start looking the part consistently. His past injury problems can no longer be used as an excuse. I really hope he can somehow salvage his Utd career.

Ross Graham brought his back from the brink afterall.

Good piece in the courier about him. Mcpake saying he was "the best player on the park by a country mile" during the Dunfermline v Falkirk Match. Interestingly 3rd highest support in Scotland on Saturday at over 6600.

Heard he’s coming back in November (World Cup break) in to the 1st team squad and has been told this is his last chance and to really get his head down.

He's not going to get a game, will be straight out on loan in Jan prob league 1 or 2 club

Fotheringham seems to be doing well, would like to see him have a run of games at a higher level.  Maybe get him to a championship team in January.

Yes!

Last night in the Scottish Championship (Fri 27/1/23), Declan Glass was a 76th minute substitute for Cove Rangers in their home loss to Ayr Utd. Cove were already 0-3 down when Glass entered the fray and conceded another two late goals in a 0-5 thrashing to 2nd in the table Ayr.

Cove remain in 8th, hovering just above Arbroath in the relegation Play-Off spot.
