Whilst I fully agree that they are much better than we are, we sent a team of 16 year olds there earlier in the season and they put up far more of a fight than we did yesterday. I still fail to see why that was the last time some of those young lads played for the first team.

and why was that? Cause the young players are not scared to take the ball and keep it, some of our "senior players" are cowards in that respect
 

 
I wouldn't call them cowards more likely they know their limitations that their lack of quality will not allow them to take the ball in tight areas. 
A young player will get a bit of leeway/ learning experience etc if they make a mistake a senior player will get slaughtered if they make an error leading to a goal.
