1-0 the good guys, Tony Watt.

Just don't see us scoring many or being as up for this as the Dee, 1-1.

3-1 United.
I'm locking myself in a cupboard.
Fun are 6/4, us 15/8!!
Bookies don't rate us!
Wish I had the confidence.
It could EASILY be a draw & noone gets hurt.

1-0 United, Nicky Clark with the winner in the last 10 mins.

A clash of 2 poor teams. Will their poor players be worse than ours?
As both teams would probably accept a draw before it starts.
I'll go for 1-1

4-2, including a Watt hattrick and a glorious display to boot.
Main talking point how awesome Akinola looks.
Some holdouts on here who will still not be satisfied and will moan about how delighted AU is

Not sure what a 'holdout' is, but what a lot of pish nonetheless.

It's called optimism. Or wishful thinking more like it

...and therein lies the truth. We all want our team to hose on the Dees and turn in a dazzling display, but that is wishful thinking as the reality is that we are not any better than them. For all their pishiness our keeper/defender had to keep the ball out the net 4 times whilst theirs could have nipped in for a pie and bovril at any time. Two of their attempts on target by a boy that we were supposedly in for over the January window. We are so desperately looking for a goal threat it is ridiculous and has been the same since we were promoted. We've taken the league's top scorer and almost as soon as we have done so, he isn't any more as he has stopped scoring. I like Clark, but just about any proper striker is comfortably putting away the one he missed, although if we had scored you'd hardly say we deserved it. When are we going to be shot of this abomination of a management team?

What I fail to see is how it is going to make any difference. The 80s have gone. Even the 90s are never going to return. The best we can ever be now is better than the other pish sides in this pish league.
The gap between where we are and where we could realistically be is not massive.
The gap between where we are and where we all wish we could be is larger than the gap between our budget and the old firms

Depressingly true although I guess it depends where we should realistically be. We are the 6th biggest club in the country so finishing a couple places either side of that is probably the best/worst we'd accept being and we'd hope for the odd cup final and semi-final every 3 or 4 years. The reality is that our current 7th place is fairly precarious and that reflects our best for several years. Realistically our current form is relegation fodder. The clubs in the three places above us (in the biggest in the country) just don't accept that. Bizarrely we've actually played well against the Old Firm, even with the covid catastrophe trip to Ibrox.
Whatever way you look at it we are underperforming. When I look back to the last Easter Road game where we were the best I have seen us at Easter Road (and that does go back to the 80s) I just don't understand how we have gotten so bad in the space of just over 3 months. I guess it is the hope that kills you...
