Not 100% but probably  paddy Connolly in a 2-3 defeat at Tynecastle in about 1989, possibly the game before that at Tynecastle when McInally scored in a 1-1 draw.  Was at the game at Tynecastle the previous season but both were 0-0.

Re: First Utd player you seen score in the flesh?

Orjan Persson (against the BNBs).

The 2nd was my namesake of course, again against the BNBs in the same match. He came on as a subby I think.

I haven't a clue who scored the first United goal I saw as it was back in the 1940s. and while my long-term memory is good it isn't that good!

Brilliant Orcajun, you must be a fair old age!
Can you remember anything about it at all, Arabarchive is a great reference.

I am 84 and first saw United when I was age of 7.  Lived in Sandeman Street and my first memory of  Tannadice was climbing over a rickety corrugated iron fence into the ground, ripped my breeks and got a walloping fae my mother! But I was hooked!  Through the following years my pals were all Dees and I was always treated as a kind of poor cousin, But I persevered with United and, although it took a long, long time, I finally got the last laugh thanks to Jim Maclean!  A laugh which still goes on today and will no doubt do so into the future.....

That is a great story Orca!
I did a wee bit of ne'erday research and chances are that the first Dundee United goalscorer you saw with your torn breeks on was ALBERT JULIUSSEN
1944/45 was the Wartime North Eastern League & Juliussen had a goals to games ratio of better than 1.
I wonder if anyone can beat your record, I doubt it.
Can I ask do you still go to games?
And may I wish you a very happy new year

Respect.

I mind ae sneakin under ma faithers legs at turnstile.
Sure the joker on turnstile must ae known what wis goan on.
Great days, moved ends at half time, Shed end wis Grampian end, all standin, electric. Huge crowds.

Anybody out there remember 66-67 season, we were only team to beat the wee hoopy men,  3 v 2 home and away.
Really earned the name Terrors,  feart ae naebidy.
