4) Billy Thomson - St.Mirren
5) Billy Dodds - Aberdeen
6) Andy Webster - Rangers (loan)
7) Jim McIntyre - Kilmarnock
8) Iain Ferguson - Rangers
9) Barry Robson - ICT
10) Noel Hunt - Dunfermline

Henry Hall came close to my list, pity we did not get him a few years earlier in his career .

Morgaro Gomis.
Mad to think we signed him from Cowdenbeath, what a player he was. And Danny Swanson from Berwick Rangers.
Levein had a terrific eye for a player. Shows that having a big budget isn't always everything when you consider we signed these two players from such lowly teams and others from similarly sized clubs (Andy Robertson and Barry Douglas both from Queens Park etc).
Good recruitment starts with good scouting.

Was just thinking there that I hadn't included Andy Robertson and forgot all about Swanson. Ach well. Tough challenge trying to narrow it down to ten! 👍

I'm pleased to see Darren Dods on the list, he was a good player for us. I watched one of the open goal videos recently where they listed him as one of the worst SPL players ever, which seemed incredibly harsh on the guy.
Solid defender, great professional and his commitment rubbed off on the players around him. Part of our cup winning team in 2010, and scored a last minute winner against Celtic.
Great signing

Because he didn't come to us from a Scottish club as required for this topic. Also Mio and Charlie Miller from other clubs, as was Kjell who was signed from Moss.

l loved Kenny Cameron playing in his usual position -- up the goalie's jersey! Andy Rolland charging up the wing was an awesome sight.....

Just realised you said other Scottish clubs so will have to rethink and do other list
Beharder in post #3 has the prize signing at the top of his list.
We got him from Motherwell for £100k.
He'd scored 80 goals in 160 games for them & I still don't know how we got him.
He wasn't with us all that long but was in our first & second major honours team.

He will also forever hold the honour of being the scorer of Dundee Uniteds first ever goal in a cup final, and the 2nd come to think of it

I recall he just gave the place a boost Beharder & I doubt we wouldn't have broken our honours duck without him.
He also exhuded an air of modesty, no Big Time Charlie, just a natural whose goals won you games.

Aren't we forgetting Sir Laurence, albeit never got to show his wares in Premier for one reason or another, but definitely honourable mention for getting us promoted.
