Noticing Frans, who was pretty much a regular starter for us under Czaba and Robbie until an injury at Falkirk finished his season, is playing every week just now for Beerschot, who could have climbed to the top of the Belgian League yesterday but for an away defeat to Antwerp.
Does that indicate the standard in Belgian football isn't great, or were we maybe too hasty in letting him go last season? Maybe he's got over his injury problems, for although he looked athletic enough, I always felt he was a bit stecky.

Fit he wasn't worse than what we have, but I think it was time for a move for both sides.
Also the Rangers beat one of their better teams quite comfortably so it is probably no better a league than ours.

It's mostly the standard (!) of Belgian domestic football I'm wondering about. They presently have some of the best players in the world, but the vast majority play abroad. Standard Liege are sitting behind Frans' side in the league right now. But they beat Beerschot heavily away two months ago. Teams in Belgium seem to be very inconsistent and unpredictable.

I thought Neilson was hasty to get rid of him.
I know having spoken to big Frederic that he was absolutely gutted to leave Utd. He loved playing for the club and liked living in Scotland.

Ryan Edwards is no better than him anyway. Big Rachid Bouhenna would be miles better too due to being able to play out from the back.

Agree.

Bouhenna in the CM roles these days wouldn’t be a bad shout either. More agile than butcher or Powers, just as filthy in a 50-50. Could pass too

FF scored the fifth goal for his side in a 5-5 draw today, to put them second top of the Belgian league.
Wouldn't it be great to watch a 5-5 draw?
