McNulty is a Scottish Internationalist mate.

2 caps. Same as Shankland. Good Striker for our level.

He's no Shankland but lets hope he comes close.
Now let's get the ball to them & hunt up a good free agent CB.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

McNulty a way better level of signing than just a journey man pro.....

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Shankland and McNulty are presently rated at the same fee on transfermarkt, and I think we, as United fans can be guilty of going to extremes over players (mostly the negative extreme, including me).

Shankland has still got some way to go before he can be considered a consistent performer at a better level, and to be fair to McNulty, he's competed well over a number of years at a higher standard than most of the players in our present squad.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Happy with Mcnulty.

I think if we had added a left winger I would've been relatively happy with our business. I don't think realistically we can sign any more players until we get some off the books.

The big signing for me this window has to be Fuchs, our lack of composure in midfield has cost us every game this season. If he can bring that to the table and pick a decent pass it will help us control the game late on and save us all from having to watch Connolly/Reynolds/Edwards making an arse of it.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

I don't really know a single thing about McNulty except he's floated around England's lower leagues and he's had more clubs than Tiger Woods.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Not that it matters but Fifa 21 reckons McNulty is better than Shankland...

Aside from that, this guy has been in the Scotland squad over the last couple of years. He will certainly contribute to our cause this season. I'd like to see one of two line ups moving forward:

Benji
Smith
Butcher
Reynolds
Robson

Bolton
Fuchs
Harkes
McMullan/Sporle/Chalmers

McNulty
Shankland

Or

Benji

Neilson
Butcher
Reynolds

Bolton
Fuchs
Harkes
Robson

Clark

McNulty
Shankland

A straight 442 or a 3412 with Clark as a 10.

Re: Transfer Deadline Day Thread

Two quality strikers, a bit like having two guns and no bullets.
