No goals scored in our last two games (and indeed no goals scored in 50% of our games thus far).
Meanwhile the Rangers haven't conceded a goal yet. So this fixture is looking quite ominous given our current resources.
How do we play this fixture then?
Backs to the wall job?
Ten men behind the ball and try and somehow keep a clean sheet and escape with a point (we were only 7 minutes from this tactic working against Celtic, afterall)?
Or do we have any scope for being a bit more cavalier?
Time for Declan Glass...Dillon Powers..or Ryan Edwards to get a start? Do we start our talisman Shankland if he has returned back to training this week?
Really interested to hear everyone's line-up's and formations for what will be a huge match in our season.

Runour that Connolly is out for a month? Not a dickie bird about Liam Smith's fitness.
I'd play:
Benji
Freeman
Edwards
Reynolds
Robson
Butcher
Powers
Bolton
Harkes
Appere
McMullan

common sense football - don't take any risks, and aim to keep our shape and discipline, in first half hour. If that goes well, read the game and change things to try and open them up.

That team looks as good as any, doubt we'll see Liam Smith or Mark Connolly for a while yet, and I wouldn't risk Lawrence Shankland unless fully fit.
In the current climate more so than ever (talking about the 10 in a row pish) we aren't likely to get much from the referee Clancy, especially playing either cheek away from home, so I'd settle for a solid performance.

For me:
Benji
Edwards
Reynolds
?
?
Butcher
Powers
Harkes
Bolton
Appere
?
Mickey will have them geed up but still have the heebees.
Hope we get through it without injuries.
No filth (players aside) in Ipox is a help.
Expect clamour for signings to increase 4:45 Saturday.

Is there any progress updates at all on Shankland and Liam Smith?

Just read there that if they keep another clean sheet on Saturday they've broken their record for most clean sheets in a row.
I hope at the very least on Saturday that we ruin that particular achievement for them.

After the last couple of performances I'm just hoping we get at least one shot on target.
It's crazy how optimistic I felt after the first 4 matches, and how quickly that has evaporated, but that is the roller coaster that being a football fan is I guess.

Try not to be too pessimistic. The Killie game was their day, not our's, their manager admitted it was their best performance in a long time. When we were again without our talisman. Had that been a Neilson 0-4 reverse I'd be concerned cos I've every faith that Mellon will get us sorted. There's definitely a better positive vibe about the team despite all the Coronapish & not knowing what's happening. Get by Saturday then we've 3 very winable home games out of 4, Accies the away game.

I'm not expecting much from Saturday in terms of result or performance. Rangers don't concede but haven't been scoring much either. They've struggled against teams sitting in so I expect a similar approach from us with Bolton and probably Chalmers breaking away from wide.
The more round pegs in round holes, the better. If that means Edwards at CH and Freeman at RB (Neilson on bench), ok with that. Think Powers could prove useful here for composure in the middle. Up front remains tricky. Clark played well when fairly isolated against Celtic, expect him to get the nod again.

Kevin Clancy the ref for Saturday 😣

Had a think about my team. I think i would go.
..........................Siegrest............
.......Neilson.....Edwards....Reynolds
Bolton...Butcher..Powers..Harkes..Robson
......................Clark...Appere.........
Subs - Mehmet, Spörle, Shankland, Glass
Chalmers, McMullan, C.Smith, Pawlett, Freeman
*bench assuming Shankland has trained this week. If he is still out i'd put Florent Hoti on the bench if he signs on time*

Good news. Boost to the other players and something else for them to think about

I would love for LOA to score against them on Saturday to end their record whether he starts or comes off the bench and also to give him a boost just coming back from injury and prove he can do it at this level.

I fucking hate those cunts. The ugliest win ever will do me.

Shanks on for 30, mebbe even whole second half, up front wi' Louis.
Butch to kick the shit out of them - one yellow, Bolton supplying, Powers solid, Harkes as per usual, young anes not overawed, Benji a blinder.
Takes on a new complexion.
Love to put one right up they Fuckin Hun Bastards.
Roll on Sunday 2:00am

Kevin's a good lad. Definitely not biased.

Good lad he may be, but I can't forget his actions and behaviour at Inverness when he booked almost our entire team, and sent off Çiftçi accusing him of grabbing the ass. ref. by the throat, which was clearly untrue.
I think he didn't realise United had cameras on the stand side which showed Nadir to be falsely accused.
