Have never walked out of a united game early as I was taught to believe you clap them off for their effort or boo them off for their lack of effort. But today was a first for me after the 3rd went in I just couldn't take any more, I have respect for any who stuck it out to the end.
So on my journey back to Lancashire I had a lot of time to reflect and feel that there are certain points that need answered, but i doubt we will get answers:
1. From all the games I have seen in person and on TV there are a lot of times where opponents seem to out work us for the whole game and play with more desire.
2. What is our game plan/ style of play? We still seem to knock it about the back and when no one from the midfield wants it, we are too static or we are so ponderous everyone is marked we lash it long and our opponents come on to us. Some teams are neat and tidy (ayr, alloa,) others are more long ball and direct with strikers playing off second ball (ICT, QOS)
3. How bad do certain players have to play to be dropped an others brought in to the team thinking Stanton and Harkes especially
4. Why after years of waiting we play a good right back out of position at left back, when we have signed Sporle who was touted as a left back, if he's not good enough and why not look to the youth for someone else.
5. How much time do we spend preparing for the opposition as its naive to think we are just better and will run over them all as we have better players, yet we seem ill prepared in some of our games
Who at the club is asking these questions as the two or three good performances seem to paper over the cracks of the games we won in spite of how we played and the recent defeats.
I believe we can still get promotion with the squad we have but am losing confidence in the 'Head Coach's' ability get us there and see nothing in the approach to convince me otherwise!
Bit of a post defeat rant and will put the tin hat on as no doubt there will be as many out there who disagree as agree with my comments.

Hard to disagree with any of the above. I doubt QoS will have an easier game all season. The galling thing is they didn’t even have to play well to give us a gubbing.
Really frustrating to watch that pish.

I actually get the impression we spend too much tome worrying about the opposition and how they’ll play. Why else did he bin the 442 at Ayr?
We’d already shown we could just run over teams if we played the right way and just attacked. Thats all we need to do, not just turn up, but turn up with the right attitude, play attacking football and we’ll destroy everyone in this league, whether we’ve prepared specifically for them or not.
Changing tactics to play Ayr or Alloa FFS

Luckily for me, I don't have a United shirt anymore to tear up so I just put the scarf in the drawer and cooked dinner.
I think I might give it all a rest for this season, I can't believe I am watching the EXACT same situation we have seen in every season we have been doon. Great start, marker placed, slip up, shocking loss.
Next is a deluge of bare wins or draws, playing catch up, struggle for form, play offs and final game loss.
I thought we had it sorted, but when the heads are doon, that's it. We never learn, adapt or press. TheShed is right, if we just stuck to the attacking form. But they drop it so quickly it's laughable.
I'll check and update now and again but for now, I will be just taking a wee step back for my health!

sums it up perfectly.
Still pissed off with the result and staggered as to how we are still top after the past 2 games. Its against teams like these that we should be taking all 3 points (if not then at least 1 point) and we could have been clear. Failure to punish teams and leaking shite goals has haunted us for far too long now.
Its easy for the management to say that they are working hard on this and that it will change but we have heard it all before and it is still the same. Massive week coming up for us and another few tricky games. Need to start playing on the front foot again and attacking teams, killing off the games!

Bang on. Try to play us at our own game and we'll burst you. Work like maniacs with a point to prove and you'll beat us. But then what grafters do we have in the team? Butcher, Robson, Harkes maybe...sometimes, Appere sometimes - that's not enough. A midfield with Stanton and Harkes both in it is too powder puff in this league. We aren't tough enough and we certainly ain't gritty enough
