Classic match from 1986
Saturday 25th October 1986
Hearts 2 (John Colquhoun 22,Gary MacKay 65 pen)
Dundee United 2 (Paul Sturrock 44, Paul Sturrock 89)
That away strip btw 
This performance came just 3 days after we thumped Universitea Craiova of Crotia 3-0 at Tannadice in the UEFA CUP 2nd Round, in a run that of course took us all the way to the Final.
We'd later on that season of course defeat Dundee 3-2 on the same ground in the Scottish Cup Semi Final, 6 months later. The only ever Dundee derby to take place outside of Dundee.
Dundee fans famously twirling their scarves in celebration at half time. Utd fans waiting until full time to to do the same.

Thanks for sharing, don't recall that game, my memories of away days in Edinburgh under wee Jim are that we lost every one of them. Hence the epic celebrations when Ray McKinnon scored a screamer for our first win at tynecastle in ages when Tommy was manage.

They actually weren't a bad side. They beat us in the 2nd leg in Croatia 1-0 in a very noisy stadium.
Tommy Coyne should have fucking buried that chance at the end btw.

Another entertaining game from the 86/87 season (an epic season).
And another 2-2 draw. This time at Tannadice against Celtic. We were 0-2 down, brought it back to 2-2 and in the end should have won. Celtic on the ropes at the end as The Shed roared Utd on.
God, I miss the 80's.
