Some of this criticism against the chairman is bizarre. We sell 2players lose a couple of games and its open season against the man. The long term financial wellbeing of the club should always be a chairman's top priority. Without Thompson at the helm we were close to having! To suffer the embarrassment of admin
Nobody is denying he hasnt done good in his time in charge but its not all good.

All for safe standing. Would be good to see United lead the way again.
Whats the situation with permissions?
All organisations involved in giving the go ahead are reliant on safety approval from within their own departments. Legal issues are dependant on government related and emergency service safety approval.
Seems that the main reason the tims were blocked from installing safe standing was down to concerns over segregating sitting areas from standing areas and stewarding that issue. They worry that the standing area will be over populated by seated fans moving into and over crowding the standing area.
If the ET Lower was converted that wouldn't be an issue.

Scoreboard? What scoreboard??? All I see is safe standing......Woo hoo!!!
As a sideline, was looking on the Arab Archive site there and about spat out my cuppa tea. It's only sponsored by a Firm that specialises in Criminal Defence. Hats off to them for such clever and creative marketing!

Biggest improvement I'd like to see at Tannadice is the atmosphere, brutal to say the least.

It's a shame the board isn't big enough to list the scorers.... it would have been great to see 'Charlie Telfer, he scored number 6 (six)'.
I could have a word with Vince McMahon and see if we could get the Titantron at a knock down price to put above the George Fox.
Joking apart, it looks great, just hope i can see it from my seat.

Looking good hopefully see some goal animations on it too and on a regular basis for us scoring

Fuck a safe standing area, any chance of a quality playing surface?
Fucking disgraceful today, again.
Your wish has been granted, new pitch laid at Tannadice a new synthetic one at Gussie Park, a new scoreboard, new seats in the dugout for the players, new changing facilities for the players, new catering for the fans I'm led to believe and maybe some other things i have missed but all in all it seems the Club and it's sponsors are spending money on ground improvements.
And a the sprinkler system too should definitely help the new pitch next week if the weather forecast cast is to be believed.
Let the kids play

Slightly off the original topic but here's a link to a conversation about Eck Dobie
Soul, scroll down to Gibby82 post and read on from there lol, Maybe Ivan Golac met the man, the myth, the Dundee legend when he took the players to camperdown to smell the flowers and they got more than they bargained for.

Smoking area next please, it's not very fair that the non smokers can't get a shite at half time because of the few who like a wee drag, they would be harming no one but thereselves if they were allowed out the back of the ET instead.

Not a ground improvement exactly, but more a wee suggestion.
The pre-match and half time music.More often than not it's chart fodder.
Why not invite in cd's by local bands into the club and 'showcase' a song each week by a local band over the PA/speakers?
Would give a local act a wee bit of exposure and give them the chance to be listened to by a minimum of 4,000 pairs of ears every fortnight.Another wee way to put the local community/people in the spotlight.Even in the briefest of ways.
Just an idea.
