A trip down south on Saturday to take on Shrewsbury. Gutted to be missing this if i am honest. More the day out than the football that will be played.
How do we line up?

Smith
Connolly
Reynolds
Robson
McMullan
Butcher

Chalmers
Shankland

Gutted to be going to this if I am honest. Would rather not see Nicky Clark play for us anymore but oh well.

There is a hell of a lot worse in that squad than Nicky Clark.

Players who are 'needing games' apparently will get a run out Sat so likely to see at least King, Harkes, Deniz start the game.

The week before our league campaign begins we should be starting with the best 11 we have that will likely start the following week.

I am jaded also. De-energised by the shite spouted and the defensive set ups of Neilson. Sort it out quick or begone Robbie.

Not entirely sure that’s true. He isn’t the worst but he’s one of the ones we really shouldn’t be having in the starting 11.

Clark add in Stanton & Watson are 3 who should be no where near the starting 11 if we are serious about winning the league

Clark has scored goals for us. If we managed that illusive art of better delivery and he was played in the right position he'd score more. That said I would have him as an impact sub.

I think there is actually a bit of a myth when it comes to Clark scoring goals.
Last year he scored 8 league goals in 24 games. He scored 2 penalties and 1 direct free kick which means he scored a grand total of 5 goals from open play. That is, quite frankly, rubbish when playing next to a striker as good as Safranko.
People will say “well you still have to be able to score penalties” and it isn’t an easy business but Clark has taken 6 penalties for us and missed 2 which is pretty poor when an average of only 1 in every 9 or 10 penalties is missed.

No thanks. All that would do would give the midfield and defence an extra body to pass sideways to, none of our central midfielders are anywhere near forward-thinking enough to make 4-3-3 work.

Having 2 in midfield the other night resulted in us being totally overrun by East Fife’s midfield 3 despite us having a real grafter like Butcher. Seeing as we don’t have a number 10 that worms and Stanton shirks the battle every time, 3 in midfield might be decent with Harkes and King in front of Butcher allowing them to push forward with the ball.

Picture of Sow on the team bus heading to Shrews. Hope he gets a run out. Surely wouldnt travel if not able to play some part?

I hope so anyway. Would love him to get off to a good start in the league to get some of the boo boys off his back.
