Technical Help Required - Youtube Videos

Guys,

A few of you are saying you can no longer see the embedded Youtube videos on here on your mobiles (it's the same for me). I am baffled as to why this might be the case as i haven't changed any settings.

Funny thing is i got Mrs Tek to check on her mobile and she can see the vids ok. I can also still see them on my laptop and my Son's tablet.

So, favour.

Can you tell me if you can see the below video (should be Utd v QotS highlights).

If you can see it can you tell me on what device you are seeing it (laptop, pc etc).

If you can't can you tell me, again, what device you are trying to view it on.

Have youse only noticed this in the past few days? Or longer?

Thanks.

Re: Technical Help Required - Youtube Videos

Also, can someone try and embedd a Youtube video themselves please?

I want to see if it's just me who can't embed them or if it ain't working for us all.

Just tried it on the music thread, and it didn't work

Re: Technical Help Required - Youtube Videos

For the time being (until i can work out how to fix this problem) can everyone who is posting Youtube videos just copy'n'paste the links, rather than embed the video.

Thanks.

Re: Technical Help Required - Youtube Videos

Strangely, I can see the highlights (wish I perhaps couldn't) on both the laptop and android phone when not logged in to the page. However, once logged in, there are no videos apparent.

Here's Hector Nicol. Or probably not.

I can see it, on iPhone, although have to click onto YT to watch it as it’s unavailable on here.

Thanks for that Mr C.

Very strange and i'm not sure why it's happening tbh because i've made no recent changes.

But i will try and resolve it.

Again lads, if you can just copy' n ' paste the youtube links for the time being, i'd appreciate it.👍

Not sure if this helps, but it says playback on other sites has been disabled by the video owner.  May explain people logging in blocking it?

I noticed that also mate.

But it would appear every YouTube embedded video isn't working properly on here in some shape or form.

Frustratingly it is different on just about every device. Only pattern is that being logged-out seems to make it easier to view the site (not ideal for myself or this site).

I will try to sort it.

Re: Technical Help Required - Youtube Videos

Spent a couple of hours tonight on this and (unfortunately) I haven't ,as yet been able to find the solution (Google results are unhelpful/inconclusive).

I have, however, copy' n'pasted a YouTube URL link on to every 'Random Great Scottish Matches' Thread.

Thought there had been quite a poor response to that thread (but maybe this is why?).

Nonetheless, if you haven't checked the matches previously, I hope you revisit them and enjoy.

P.s any technical advice welcomed.

Re: Technical Help Required - Youtube Videos

After I click play I get this screen ...

I can open on android phone and ipad by clicking on -  Watch this video on YouTube.

Playback on other websites has been disabled by the video owner.

Not a new thing, been happening for a long time.
