Stanton's ability will be better gauged in the better performing team shedboy I think. Mair protection behind him and around him with better creativity and quality.
See him maybe getting a chance more often in games that are not against the teams with the most fight.

everyone has their own opinions but i would be going Stanton over Gomis and Fyvie.
Fyvie is better off in the reserves for another couple of games as his last couple of performances for the first team have been the worst he has been in a tangerine shirt. Let him play with them until he is ready.

Totalky agree. Fyvie also deserves appreciation for coming back earlier than ready for the cause. Huge risk for his career and general image as a player.

Gomis or Stanton. Gomis imho. I think he would give more protection to the back 4.

Not sure where Fyvie is with his fitness atm, he doesn't play on plastic pitches anyway. However when fit he is twice the player of Gomis & Stanton

I would imagine gomis is playing as he never played in the wee derby, same team as usual! Think we’ve got a good chance to winning this wee seem to be there bogey team

Mad to think we went there and won this season. Under Csába László!!!
Infact László won down there last season too.
Our record down there is very decent, actually.
I'd like to see Stanton in the 'new' team.
I think he can still be a vip for us.

I'm reading on the BBC that the PFA did a poll of all SPL players excluding those at clubs that play on plastic and they voted unanimously to get rid of them

Plastic pitches should be banned in the professional game immediately. They are only ever installed as money makers, if you cant afford grass fuck off to the juniors.
Do you see Man U ,Liverpool or any of the wealth laden clubs looking to put down plastic? Of course you don't as the surface is a disaster to play on.
If Tannadice went to plastic that would be it it for me, Listen to the fans get these abominations of pitches away to fuck now!
12 pitches (13 clubs cos East Stirling & Stenny groundshare) among the 42 clubs are plastic. 3 in each of the four divisions surprisingly. You'd think that all 12 could be from the lower divisions.
There's no disputing clubs like Forfar & Montrose would be struggling without them cos of the financial benefit from community use that would be lost.
It's a difficult one. Hamilton & Livingstone might retain prem lge status thanks to their plastic. Who could forget Watergate scandal at NDP two years ago when they rifled one in at our end on the freshly watered surface (watered in one half only). Kept them up & us down.

Agree, plastic pitches are poor. Look at qots last year when game got abandoned at half time. Think falkirk had a game called off as well.
Also the black rubber thats mixed into the pitch im sure Ive read isnt the best. Positive the story was related to cancer.

Fake grass, like I've said before, should be viewed by folk paying fake money.
Whether you view them as poor, just as good or better than grass, all matches in the league should be played on a surface of similar quality, and clearly plastic isn't the same as grass. I'd say plastic is worse than grass, but that really doesn't matter. Grass isn't interchangeable with plastic in football terms.

The 'Shire cannae be counted in the 42 now, they were replaced by Edinburgh City a few years ago, who play on Spartan's plastic presently.
They were never 'groundsharing' but rather tenants at Stenhousemuir. Now they play down in Grangemouth.

Forceful USA survey. Black pellets made out of old tyres rife with carcinogens (had to look that up).

The black rubber has been put forward as a causal factor in cancer: studies in the USA show goalkeepers suffering from a higher incidence than expected after long term exposure to plastic pitches using the black rubber pellets.

Thanks Pat. It was an older report I looked up cos it didn't have Livingstone as having one.

You can argue all the different points for and against artificial pitches, but the fact that clubs have to leave players out of teams because they’re playing on a plastic pitch is the only reason needed to ban them.
Clubs shouldn’t have to pick their team depending on what surface their opponents are playing on. Remember that phrase from a few years ago “Sporting Integrity”, these pitches compromise that weekly.

shedboy, you are sounding like a fan of one pf the Evil Twins there.
I agree with the idea of limiting these pitches, maybe the bottom league and at a stretch League One should be the upper ceiling for clubs with them (only 'cos we are in the Championship).
Perhaps they could be permitted at the lower levels, but Scottish Cup games shouldn't be allowed on them if the opponent doesn't use one.

It's funny that cos the players of Livi, Hamilton and Killie all liked them.
Is there any grounds in England got them?

None left in the top four leagues, QPR, Oldham and PNE got rid of their plastic.

Did uefa not used to give about £250k for having plastic - not sure why?!?
Clubs in Scotland obviously think there is some benefits. Amazing no club out of the 92 in English football leagues choose to have it!

The Football League and Premier League rules prohibit artificial turf.
I know Stenhousemuir received some funding from UEFA when they installed their pitch, in 2006. Cannae mind amounts.
