The final contest of Round 1 witnessed the top two scoring albums both finish on the same winning score line. As it was 'Franz Ferdinand' by Franz Ferdinand' that finished on the winning score of victory at the end of normal time, it will be that that progresses through to Round 2 as the seeded entrant. Joining it in the next Round also (albeit unseeded) will be 'Room On Fire' by The Strokes', which finished as 'runner-up' on this occasion despite sharing the lead with the aforementioned 'winner'. Eliminated at the first hurdle are 'Have You Fed The Fish?' by Badly Drawn Boy and the unlucky 'The Eminem Show' by (yes, you guessed it) Eminem.
