Very sad that he won't be able to go on. Seems he's not even sure he'll be able to last until Wimbledon.
But as Britain's best ever tennis player - a Scot - he leaves a brilliant legacy.
The older I've got I've come to the view that he was emotionally damaged by Dunblane and maybe that's why tears come too easy for him.
But if you're a tennis fan or even if you're just a sports fan he's left us some thrilling memories. The first slam when he beat Djokovic to a standstill in the USA was something I'll never forget.
