Dundee Utd V Dunfermline

A must win home game on Saturday.
They have not lost in their last 4 league games. Our form needs to change and we need to take 3 points saturday.

Id hope to see another 3 players in tbis week minimum but highly unlikely.
If the squad stays as it is likely line up for me would be McMullen Aird Nesbitt behind Safranko..

Siegrist
Murdoch
Booth
Frans
Bohenna
Stanton
Fyvie
Mcmullan
Aird
Nesbitt
Safranko

That's the team I would go for and the team I think it will be.

Tin helmet on but is Yannick Loemba not due a chance from the bench at least?

He has been given no chance by Neilson and now Curran is gone our only other option from the bench is King or Matty Smith. Both of whom have had umpteen chances under him (and other Managers).

Why not eh? All the enthusiasm the new manager bounce and subsequent results caused is gone now I feel and yet another skittery, wet pump of a limp to the play offs to be knocked out again seems inevitable. Hope the new owner or someone can inject a bit of life into the campaign but just feels like deja vu.

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.

Re: Dundee Utd V Dunfermline

Looks like the Pars have punted their manager.

Hope they are in disarray.

Re: Dundee Utd V Dunfermline

Knowing our luck they'll come out and play with the 'shackles aff'.

Re: Dundee Utd V Dunfermline

No disarray, harmony - Robbie's bestie Stevie Crawford is slotting straight in to take charge of Pars at Tannadice on Saturday. Sandy Clark's punted with Johnston.
Could be why Crawford didn't come with Robbie to Tannadice, he suspected there was an opportunity arising for him at East End Park?
Conversely, if Crawford doesn't get the Pars gig full time & the incoming manager doesn't want him could we then be seeing him at Tannadice with his mate? Forwards coach was it or assistant head coach?

Re: Dundee Utd V Dunfermline

Allan Johnston has left Dunfermline.

Stevie Crawford is in charge for the game against us.

EDIT - in other breaking news, Elvis is broon breed.

Re: Dundee Utd V Dunfermline

Be interesting to see what RN will do if smith is signed today and is available tomorow. Surely Nesbitt has to start as number 10 and possibly play smith wider in the 3. Toss up between Aird and McMullen for the last spot but i would go with Aird as he can stick a decent ball in the box (although i know he was pish last week).

Id go

Same back 4

Fyvie stanton
Aird Nesbitt Smith
Safranko

Wasnt the reason smith didnt settle was because we played him wide last time? Where is is not as effective

True but dont know where else id fit him in with Nesbitt here too. The 3 in behind should be quite fluid and can interchange so could always change it if needed.

We just need better options because the 3 playing last week, especially in the first half created nothing at all.

Re: Dundee Utd V Dunfermline

Now Nesbitt, Cammy Smith and Gomis have signed what are we thinking the team and formation will be on Saturday?

Could we be going 4-3-3?

Re: Dundee Utd V Dunfermline

Sackie as “consultant” , unreal, hope he picks their team.

Be very interesting to see what team Robbie picks and how we set up with the new lads. Looking forward to this. Heres hoping this is the start of something.

Re: Dundee Utd V Dunfermline

My team for Saturday.

Siegrest
Murdoch Bouhenna Frans Booth
Fyvie Stanton
Aird C.Smith Nesbitt
Safranko

Its likely that only 1 of the new signings will start but I'd he chucking them in straight away with McMullan available off the bench. Any word on when Nicky Clark will be back?

From what RN has said i doubt it. He implied iirc that Jimmy would provide cover (presumably for Fyvie mostly). If we did we'd have to change formation of one of the three mids went of...or play Rabitsch...

Also I'm not sure we have the right players for a front three or how well Safranko would fit in that.

Be interested in others thoughts on this - I like the formation, just think we're a bit off having the bodies for it.

Re: Dundee Utd V Dunfermline

Unless u play a narrow three up top, I would say no,  Smith is NOT a winger, needs to play 10
