Let's be honest here, UniDundee: you don't know who these people from the U.S. are, no United fans know a thing about these Americans, nobody on the various supporters' groups have the names of these Yankees, yet you 'heard' that a shared stadium is on the cards.

It sounds implausible that you have any credible information, when you don't know who these investors are. But you 'heard'?

Are you special?

He's obviously a Dee

Just because I put up something that you don't like....

I don't post often, no point in posting after every win, draw or defeat you just start repeating yourself, but doesn't mean that I am a Dundee fan, Celtic fan, Rangers fan, Hearts or even Arbroath.

You're a bit paranoid, chill.

Ffs pat. I like yer posts on here but that's below the belt imo. Twice youve had a pop at him now.
There has been loose talk about sharing grounds. The dundee yanks have been at tannadice meaning rumours and shit come round. Campy isnt happening for them so folk put 2 and 2 together. Wind yer neck in ffs.

Dundee MD John Nelms met our Chairman Mike Martin in Oct at Tannadice, that came from someone that works at the club. No idea what the meeting was about though, maybe Pat will say that I should lol.

Re: Rumour mill

I’m guessing the shared stadium rumours are the funsters sharing Tannadice?  there is no danger United will share the Monorail Stadium if it is ever built.

I have heard that, this is a forum duh!

I never said it was true or false, just that I heard from people that you know ;)

Come and chat to me in the Fox at our next game, I'll look for you Mr B. ......sorry special Pat lol

Sorry if I offended you, that isn't the  intention.

I'm normally in the East Stand.

I must have been confused by you saying "Shared stadium is on the cards". I thought that meant 'liable to happen'.

Again, if you have genuine information you want to share, I can't stop you. I can't stop you posting anything at all.

Re: Rumour mill

If what's being said is true by this time tomorrow we might have new owner's and know nothing about them. Is this a first in a city that leaks more than Julian Assange ffs hard to believe noone knows who they are and what they're about. If spencey is right and they want their own new board it worries me
This could be great but it could also be a disaster if they team up wi the Texans to obliterate both clubs into one.

Re: Rumour mill

Morning. If easily offended look away now .

IF new American investors come in, I'll put my neck on the line and say they will have no connection to the Texans at Dens. If they have business heads on, it might even be a good thing for the club, as for the last few years we've been in an absolute mess.

I'll also say Spencey might just be indulging in conjecture. Earlier in the season he was writing "Meantime, across the road at Tannadice, any imminent American investment looks as likely as the return of the woolly mammoth." Yesterday he's predicting the opposite, to an extent.

Maybe nothing's happening.

Re: Rumour mill

Don't normally feel comfy posting on topics like this, but am acquainted with someone who works for the Club. They've told me in so far as they know, it's got nothing to do with Keyes or Nelms.

Re: Rumour mill

I doubt it's anything to do with the Dundee owners either.

I do worry it is something to do with Stephen Thompson in some way though.

Utd FC Group still fresh in the memory.

This is the scariest thought about the takeover that somehow he will find his way back in - no fan wants that

Yes.

But remember these rumours of American interest started about 2 years ago after Thompson himself flew out there to meet investors.

I'm probably just unecessarily speculating but if/when this takeover is announced the fans deserve total transparency on the matter.

i.e. who are these people? What is their interest in Football/Dundee United? How did the move come about? What are their ambitions for the club? Will they be moving to Scotland and  being 'hands on' etc etc?

Re: Rumour mill

Surely Thompson will not be involved in this?  He'd need to be a serious glutton for punishment if he was to try and get involved with the club again - he must know the level of bad feeling towards him from the fanbase.

Don't get this link people are making with the American's at Dens either - the USA is a one hell of a big place!

This guy is right, I just looked on a map and it's fucking massive.

Re: Rumour mill

Stephen Thompson no longer has anything to do with investment from the USA, nor DUFC, but he did previously meet the investors, knows who they are & they do indeed exist.

Genuine question.  How do you know?  Do you know an employee/ex-employee at the club? Work at the club yourself? Know the alleged investors?

Oooooohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaah!!

Haha very droll... was simply making the point that it seems a bit of a jump that people are talking about merger just because there is potentially people who are looking to buy the club being from the same country as the people who own the other club in the city.

Nor is it Alastair Borthwick which is a pity cos you'd know what you were getting with him. The right reasons and all that.

Dr Michael Gregory, owner of Apogee Healthcare?  He was seemingly interested about 3 years ago. Even sent his number 2 to Dundee to look things over.  Not who I've heard though.  Pity, he might sort our medical staff out.
