Neil Lennon

Now talking about considering his position after the Edinburgh derby capers. What's yer thoughts on the whole thing?

I watched the match and thought he made an exaggerated response and feel the Hearts keeper did the same.

Out of order by those who did what they did and sure they will be found and punished but naebody in the media has said they made a meal of it.

I rekon his reponse is fuelled by being embarrassed at how he reacted.

The whole go down if yer touched thing has spilled into something else here .

He then states after the match that he wants to meet the cunt that threw the coin. I hope he does and the cunt is 6ft 6 and as daft as he might seem. Get that on BT fkn Sports.

This culture of playing the ref and now  the media etc is piss poor all round.

Naebody in the media has the balls to say anything against the victims and I feel for the linsmen, fans who had flares chucked into their area and keeper mair than Lennon who was a good hardy player who's just acted dead when hit by a coin in the cheek.

He's embarrassed at himself and talking gobshite in retreat.

Spoke with 3 Hibs fans this week after it who all said the same before stating their team.

Re: Neil Lennon

He's a horrible, vile human being. And before anyone says "you shouldn't be assaulted while at work" I agree but what does he expect? Acting like a wee Ned on the touch line half the time. The coin didn't even hit him in the pus and he goes down like he's just had a smack from Tyson, then comes out with the wanting to meet him comment--minter of a manager.

It's not where you're from it's where you're at.

Re: Neil Lennon

The coin hit him on his (padded) Hibs Jacket on the midriff.

Went down like a collapsing tower block, clutching his face.

A complete attention seeker.

Re: Neil Lennon

Several different issues here, for me.

Certainly, Neil Lennon needs to tone down his behaviour on the touchline, for he has been over aggressive towards officials at times, in the manner he would find unacceptable if the aggression was shown to him.

Supporters can be out of order too, and throwing stuff at the pitch/players/officials is very common among some sets of fans. That linesman hit at Livingston, and Lennon at Tynecastle: a lot of coins have to be thrown for one to hit the target.

For what it's worth, I'm certain the coin did hit Lennon on the side of the face, as in the slowed down film you can trace the trajectory of the coin.

And Lennon is right to call out bigotry, it's fucking tiresome nonsense calling folk names based on their assumed religion, and when words like 'darkie' 'Paki' and 'nigger' are unacceptable, so should be the anti-religious stuff.

He's wrong, however, to call his abuse racism. The Irish or the Roman Catholics are not a race.

Finally, the furore over the Edinburgh derby has covered up the behaviour of the Celtic fans (again) at Dundee on Wednesday. Firing flaming objects into a wooded seated stand, while chanting 'Orange Bastards' is as bad as anything that happened at Tynecastle.

Re: Neil Lennon

Lennon is still serving a suspended ban for his antics following the draw with the Rangers at the end of last season, this will surely be taken into account and the book thrown at him?

If a fan was mincing about like Lennon in front of a rival fan in the middle of the street would anyone take the mincing fans side once he received a crack in the pus?

Lennon probably realises the SFA will be distracted by his complaints about the coin and 'racism', and they will conveniently forget about his suspended sentence as a result.

Like I've said, he needs to tone down his aggression and behaviour on the touchline.

But pointing to one man's stupidity shouldn't take away from the issue of supporters' behaviour, which I reckon is getting worse as some groups think they are untouchable.

Some groups are untouchable, have been for years.  That is partly what is encouraging others to now say if they can get away with it so can we.

Points deductions for sectarian singing and fans throwing things/going on the pitch is the only thing that might fix it.  Other fans aren’t going to sit back and let those sitting around them cost their team points.  The authorities know this is the solution and will never implement it as they know that certain clubs will not allow it.

Re: Neil Lennon

Lennon is always sailing close to a breach of the peace with his antics on the touchline.  I am not saying he was asking for it, but he has to take some of the blame for enticing fans to misbehave.  However, there is no excuse for folk throwing things on to the pitch or at opposition fans and those folk should be outed and jailed.  I also agree that the blind eye has to be switched on to the sectarian bile that comes out of OF 'fans'.  Points deductions are the only way.  Despite protestations otherwise, you can hear them chant the usual bile at every match on tv, but yet nothing is done.
