Falkirk v dundee utd 22 sep

Saturday we play Falkirk who are currently bottom of the table with ZERO points.
Tricky pitch i doubt Fyvie will play any part due to that but you never know.

If we dont get the 3 points will this be enough for Mike Martin and his fellow board members to eventually sack Laszlo?

Whats your team?

Falkirk Defeats this season (So far) -

1) Falkirk 0 Montrose 1 - 14th July, League Cup
2) St.Johnstone 1 Falkirk 0 - 24th July, League Cup
3) Falkirk 0 ICT 1 - 4th August, Championship
4) Partick Thistle 2 Falkirk 1 - 11th August , Championship
5) Falkirk 0 QotS 3 - 25th August, Championship
6) Ross County 2 Falkirk 0 - 1st September, Championship
7) Falkirk 0 Connah's Quay Nomads 1 - 8th September, Irn Bru Cup
8) Ayr Utd 3 Falkirk 2 - 15th September, Championship

FIVE defeats out of 5 in the Championship and EIGHT already by just mid-September.

They are a sorry lot who can't keep a clean sheet to save themselves and also don't score many.

Anything but a win with goals and that must surely be that?

Re: Falkirk v dundee utd 22 sep

I mean, surely to God we cuff them on Saturday.

Points are most important but we need a few goals & a clean sheet here.

Re: Falkirk v dundee utd 22 sep

I honestly could see us losing this.  I have a really awful feeling about it.  Them plaggy pitches... I dont remember seeing us play well on one? Maybe once or twice at killie?

Think we draw. Fear we lose.

I took this to mean what team would you pick, not what you think it will be.

If it's the team you would pick and two folk are including Murdoch, then we'd be as well knocking the season on the head now.

Played our best stuff of the season in the first half against qots on a plastic pitch.

Weve played well on plastic and weve played badly as well. Its not the pitch. Its which utd turn up lol

I hate plastic pitches, but agreed.  Played our best football last season in a game at QOTS too if I remember correctly.

Re: Falkirk v dundee utd 22 sep

You see when you've got 3 centre halves none of whom you want to leave out?
Do you then just dispense with fullbacks?
Or stick them further upfield & call them something else?
Serious question.

I blame Sky Sports.

Rakovan
Wardrop.    Watson.   Frans.    Robson
                         Fyvie
       McMullan.  Glass.    Aird
               Smith.     Safranko

Possibly Bouhenna for Watson and assuming Clark and Stanton are out.

We do not need 2 sitting midfielders

We’ll get pumped on Saturday.

To be fair if you have 3 good CH’s and a decent midfield 4 in front you can set up without full backs no bother.  Partly because hardly anyone plays without wingers these days.

Personally don’t think it suits our personnel to play that way.

Re: Falkirk v dundee utd 22 sep

I won't be surprised if we lose. I will be surprised if the manager is sacked. I think he should be but don't think the board will act yet. I think we are still a few more bad results away from that.

Re: Falkirk v dundee utd 22 sep

I've no confidence about this. Was thinking, should I guess a team to get pumped to quicken Csaba's departure, or a team to do the best we can.

TBH I don't think we have as good a squad as some other United fans, although the central defence looks a wee bit better than the last year or so.

Smith, as a couple of others have said, deserves a chance right up front with Safranko.

If everyone is fit.....

Played 3 at back at qots and first half as i said earlier was fantastic.  2nd not so. However i think its worth persevering with.

After sat we have ross county at home. If we lose to them (and if we lose against falkirk) he has to go as soon as the final whistle goes.

Re: Falkirk v dundee utd 22 sep

The last time we played them there was the 6-1 game.  They had been on a rank run before that game and the 6-1 turned their season around.  That was (hopefully) the height of Lazlo's uselessness.  He has his team now.  He has to reverse that score.  We need to go there and win comfortably this time.  A loss of any sort should see him get his jotters.

Re: Falkirk v dundee utd 22 sep

At the start of the week i wasn't going to touch this game with a barge pole, but as match day approaches the hearts getting the better of the head, even though the fixture has BANNANA SKIN written all over it, .... McKinnon, the 6 - 1 defeat, the fact i just hate that fkn half a stadium. But nay doubt i'll be there preparing for the worst (dreading what that would be), hoping for the best.

                          Rakovan
Watson .. Bouhenna .. Frans .. Robson
  McMullen .. Loemba -- Glass .. Aird.
                  Smith ... Safranco
Almost what Pat would put out , but im not comfortably risking Fyvie just yet, especially on that pitch.

Re: Falkirk v dundee utd 22 sep

No danger will Fyvie start. He said his target was to play 25, 45, 60 then 90 mins in the reserves before starting to build up in the first team. Playing him on a plastic pitch would be madness as well.

Too much commotion

I honestly don't know what to expect. I think he'll get longer than most of us want though.

The thing is though that we don't score much either. We also seem to let at least 1 goal in per game.

Re: Falkirk v dundee utd 22 sep

6 x undropables -
the goalie (either goalie actually)
the 3 centre halves
Fyvie (if fit obviously)
Safranko
anybody else undropable do you think? Stanton once he comes back.

True.

A 1-1 draw seems a good bet.
