Wonder who the other 2 bussinessmen are?
So Mike Martin is now Chairman and majority shareholder and we have a Thompson free club.
He will stand or fall by his own decisions now 100%
I like some of the decisions the man has made (changing Bowman for Easton, building the new hospo suites/sports bar).
But still feel we are all avoiding the 'Elephant in the room' i.e. Csaba.
Regardless. A new season starts tomorrow and it's time to focus on that and hope for the best.

Agreed. You can only hope that if it is apparent that it is not working then MM will do the right thing.

One small thing btw.
How does the acquisition of Thompson's shares strengthen Dundee United's financial position in the short term as the club statement indicates?
Surely it only strengthens Steven Thompson's financial position, no?

Actually one or small thing.
The DUSF money.
Wonder if they will now 'gift' it to the club.

Thought occurred to me too.
New regime same bullshit?
That would be a shame and I hope not but I'm not getting too excited in the meantime.

It doesn’t.

I’m not at all over the moon about martin now having total control.
Massive part of all the fuck ups.
Not convinced this is good news at all.

I wonder if they were sold with the extra conditions that Mr Gibson found unacceptable or ST and more so MM just didn't want a Foundation member having the raines. Can only be good news offloading the parasite but still feels underhand, like the dark cloud hasn't quite lifted the way it was forecast.

Maybe the gang of four combined have or have access to more funds than ST.
The main point here is that Friday 13th should be ST free day. All arabs need to give the regime a chance. None of this he's a prick he drinks in this pub and talks shite.

Wonder even more now if one of the conditions was Gibson keeping MM as chairman.
Lighten up everyone.
Enjoy the day and stop being so sceptical.
Four LOCAL men now own DUFC so life's good.
Online!
This can only be a good thing, many have stated that they won't go back or renew while ST was still at the club, well he's gone.
Let's not look for something else to greet about just for the sake of it.

Peter and Jimmy Marr were LOCAL men.
I don't care where the come from. I care that they are ambitious and have a good head for business whilst still understanding the mechanisms of football and it's unique place in not just sport but also society.
Anyway you are right upto a point. I will try and 'lighten-up' 😛

Don't know if this (statement from DUSF FB page) helps...
"Today’s news that Stephen Thompson has sold his majority shareholding in DUFC will be seen as a positive step forward and will be welcomed by most Arabs. The Dundee United Supporters Foundation also welcomes the news of the sale and will look to meet with the new owners as soon as possible to find common ground that will allow the Foundation to play a positive role in the future of our football club. The Foundation will also be engaging all the Fans groups to discuss a blueprint to bring the fans groups together to bring unity, whilst retaining individual structure and areas of responsibility and functionality, which will deliver a stronger fans' voice to help build upon the recent changes."
....wait and see I think

Csaba is staying for now so instead of turning every piece of news into a negative let's just be hopeful and get behind him going into the season. If it fails then complain but not before. Surely that's the way forward

I spoke at length about Csaba with my old man and he touched on something I never really thought about.
We've all heard the rumours that Csaba himself said in January that we wouldn't be anywhere near promotion with the players we had, then Luggy came in and worked closely with him bringing in a few players towards the end of the season. MM has taken a few Jim McLean ideas on board, 25 mile rule low basic pay to name two so he is obviously listening to what Luggy's ideas are and what he has to say.
What if Luggy saw something in Csaba when he was working with him and listened to his plans and philosophy for the coming season and convinced Martin he is the man to carry us forward?

All I can hope for is that this post gets more than the 46 responses the bad news post got or it will be carnage 👹😡😩😂

Thank fuck
Was great to hear whilst spending the day in Malaga yesterday.
A long road begins now with these guys now trying to fix a massive mess the club is in.
