Fwiw and for anyone who has not seen this (nb this is a cut and paste from the Arabtrust FB page)
Update from the SLG Meet held on Thursday 14th June
* Discussions are still ongoing with regards to new ownership
* MM confident a deal will be done
* MM on Stephen Thompson “for avoidance of doubt, Stephen Thompson has no input in running the club now and with regards to his position, that’s a decision for the new owners”. Mike Martin then advised he couldn’t discuss the potential ownership change in any more detail.
* More player arrivals in the next few days
*. MM was questioned on his enthusiastic backing for the manager. He explained Csaba had wanted to make many changes as soon as he was appointed. However at the time, he was advised the club couldn’t afford to make such huge changes. He was asked to work with what he had for now. It’s his attitude in response to this that has led MM and the rest of the board to believe he is the right man for the job.. His reaction was very mature when other managers may have been much less understanding of the boards request.
* MM talked more about the United way in terms of player incentives, rewards would be for success only (winning the Championship) and to be paid at the end of the season.
* Talking about finances. MM said being in the Championship meant the plan B budget has been implemented. He talked about the club making a loss this year but emphasised this was due to lack of income rather than a cost issue. He talked about various money earning opportunities the club had plans for that will help plug gaps. He talked about the new hospitality lounge opening soon and how that would improve the whole match day experience
* Season Tickets continued to sell well and were ahead of this time last year. Although MM emphasised numbers now aren’t really the be all and end all. It’s the final number that was important and the target was 4K.
*MM advised all present, whilst recognising the SLG was the main communication vehicle for supporters he had decided to accept an invitation from the Fed to attend their AGM.
* Fans United Supporters Group have advised that they will now take up the invitation to attend SLG meetings

All very admirable Csaba not rocking the boat with signings but did Martin see anything at all from Csaba to suggest that he will know what to do when he gets better players in and that he has the ability to motivate them cos that’s the important part and that’s the part that was missing last year. Hopkins would have got us up
Thanks for the briefing Scarpia.
Michael Martin appears to be his own man.
And bullet point # 3 jumps out at me -
'ST has no input in the running of the club now and with regards to his position, that's a decision for the NEW OWNERS'. MM is saying that as a given, we ARE getting new owners.
MM's keeping of Snaba' is properly getting scrutinised too & if we get past October intact, his faith in him will be a winner.

Yes thanks for posting that Scarpia.
All very interesting points.
Especially the Csaba paragraph. Perhaps we should cut him a bit more slack despite some of the bollox that ocurred last season. Personally think I have maybe been over critical of him. Will get behind the team without question and Shabba. Hope it all works out. Interesting season ahead.

This bit: "He explained Csaba had wanted to make many changes as soon as he was appointed. However at the time, he was advised the club couldn’t afford to make such huge changes." doesn't tally with my recall of the time.
I seemed to think he was appointed, according to Steven Thompson, because he was happy with the squad we had in place and felt it good enough to complete the job of promotion.
However, Csaba is the manager, so I'll give him a chance to convince me.
