With Sturrock being credited as scouting & identifying playing staff, and now local press saying he’s been tasked with the youth overhaul, just what is Laszlo’s role at the club?
His tactical genius and masterful motivational skills?

His only role right now should be to clear his desk and F*** off!!

I have no idea to what anyone can see in Lazlo, he's offered nothing what so ever.
The team certainly were not playing for him last season and we can clear out as many players as we like but the same thing will happen next season. Players will get dropped and players will go in a huff and he can't manage a squad of players as was proven last season.
If we can't afford to pay him off, tell him to sit in the house and get the guy that used to sit behind me the the GFL to manage the team. This guys brilliant shouts when we need to squeeze up, formations, holding midfielders, diamonds, width, get to the byline, press higher up the park and retaining possession.

A very pertinent question that i insunuated towards myself last week on another thread (can't remember which now).
Luggy is scouting the domestic players.
Graeme Liveston is getting brought back in (again at Luggy's behest).
Craig Easton is tipped to be brought into the fold regards the Development team side of things (at...yes you guessed it...Luggy's recommendation).
So what exactly is Laszlo there for? His tactics?
Well from what the local press were saying he is bringing in his 'tactics man' from previous clubs Wagner Burger.
Just me or is Csaba Laszlo's remit as Manager getting more and more diluted to the point of being beyond parody now?
Seriously why is he there?

To have the final say on players scouted, to have the final say on tactics, to motivate the players and pick the team?
Diluted? Maybe but more supported and aided I rekon.
Or we are constructing a base plan to build that can carry on without him.
Think he is here to stay though.
I will judge him after the cleanse and new squad are in. After how long I'm no sure. I'd like to say 6 months but probably 4 to 6 games.

Both sides summed up in a small quote I think.

Given the simplicity of our Betfred Group opponents (and of course the absolute shite we have had to witness thus far under him) 4-6 games is all he deserves.
We have to hit the ground running, simple as.

Fk the betfred cup. I'll judge nothing off that. Hope he plays the reserves. If we have reserves.

Why condemn the Betfred Cup? It's the League Cup. It represents 2 of our 5 honours. It has a new format which is much more interesting & gives the opportunity to play meaningful early season games rather than swanning off to Holland on a jolly. If you want to condemn the Betfred League Cup you might as well condemn the Scottish Cup & the League itself. I don't see where you're coming from.

I think you are answering your own question smeDUm.

Fans don't necessarily like the new format. But I think our support sees the league as total priority, and are thus dismissive of other competitions for that reason.
And generally, I would say that football has changed so much in the last couple of decades, it's difficult not to be cynical about any changes, therefore fans might not find the format of the tournament

We will have a totally new squad, these guys need games to gel and be bang at it for the start of the league

Do you prefer the straight knock-out format?
I wouldn't miss being drawn against Aberdeen (A) in the first round.

I liked it better when we were better, no doubt. And when the trophy led to a European spot.
What I don't like specifically about it now is, the cannon fodder knock each other out in games where bookings and injuries can be picked up, then the four European qualifiers get to enter at a later stage, fresh with no suspensions. Ironically, they are awarded byes for having qualified for Europe, in the SPFL's premier cup competition, from which a team can't then qualify for Europe if they do well.
The League Cup has been devalued over the years, to the extent that now it's almost a pre-season tournament for lesser sides. Then the supposed big guns come in and clean up.
But all competitions in Scotland have become bastardised now.

Agreed - considering it essentially amounts to our pre-season these days, I’d like to see a few cohesive performances to hopefully allow us to hit the ground running
