it's mental how time passes, 94 cup win was 24 years ago today.
standout memories for me are the alec cleland stonewall penalty that was denied, guido's save, and the absolute explosion of emotion in the final few seconds when the ball was in our box and someone booted it clear for a rangers throw and the ref finally blew the whistle
happy days

That was the longest second half i've ever seen, it went on fur F'kn ages, I was still smoking back then and it was still legal to smoke at the futba, I must have smoked aboot 40 in thon second half, I remember Maxwell looking a bit nervy at pass backs and kicking out in the first half, I'm sure Dailly must have been told at half time to close him down and make him more nervous, and the rest as they say is history. A great day and night, actually weekend, I mind I had to take a "Bombay Fast" on the Monday as well, happy days indeed!

I think I've mentioned this before but when dad and I got back from this, we started pulling into the st. Nich (downtown Carlisle) when half the pub emptied out onto the street nicked my flag and started waving it and anything else at cars coming past. That was the main road going through Carlisle. Mainly lads we knew from dad running various football teams in the City. They knew what we'd been through in years past like... I say "what wed been through" I was just 13 for fuck sake. Already 4 or 5 hampden losses deep.
Simply amazing day. Boiling hot too right?

My memory of the day ends with dancing on the bar at the Phoenix...

I was only 1 at the time but my dad was there with my mum and big brother.
He said what you lads said about the stonewall penalty and how Guido saved Mkiylechenko’s volley. He can’t even describe the feeling at full time, just beyond Incredible.
He always laughs about how when they got back In the car at full time BBC Scotland were on the radio talking about Rangers magnificent double that season and how when they left the ground In the car there were Celtic fans running down to wave United fans and buses off. He said there were celtic fans standing on the bus shelter’s waving Celtic flags shouting and cuddling each other about how “We done the bastards” We... Just shows you how much they hate each other.
