Season ended on Friday night.
Now Tuesday afternoon and NOTHING!!
No official announcement about players leaving. Who exactly and how many?
No official signing news whatsoever.
No news on our Manager either way, whether he is staying or leaving.
No news at all on the long rumoured 'takeover'.
Are the lights on at Tannadice?
First thing Monday morning we should have been ready to start business for NEXT SEASON and we should have been getting the fans onside with a rallying call.
Instead we get a half-arsed apology from Martin via a club statement and a promise of action.
Well we are all waiting.

Ha.
Maybe i provoked a reaction?
Well done Utd, only took 4 days to announce what you must have already knew.
My point stands about the rest however.
p.s. dissapointed Mohsni's leaving.

That's p1sh about Mohsni. I'd love to know the details of his departure. I know his contract was up, but wonder if he was told he was no longer needed, or if he'd had enough himsell, or if he told Slabber and Moo Moo to stick it where the sun don't shine.

No mention of Deniz, McDonald, Fyvie, Fraser or Robson who are all out of contract next month...

Csaba never said that. No danger.

"Dundee United today announced the following players are leaving the Club upon expiry of their contracts: Willo Flood, Bilel Mohsni, Mark Durnan, Cammy Ballantyne, Jordie Briels, Paul Quinn, Grant Gillespie and Emil Lyng. Returning to their parent clubs on completion of loan deals are Thomas Mikkelsen, Harry Lewis, Anthony Ralston, Craig Slater and Brandon Mason."
Presumably the omission of Deniz Mehmet, Fraser Fyvie, Scott McDonald and Idris Kadded means we want to keep those 4?
Bit risky imo trying to re-sign not one but 2 boys who have done their knee ligaments in before we know how they return. It's about the worst injury you can get.
Edit - Fraser and Robson also. Presumably we need to offer Robson a deal if we hope to get a Development fee? A risky business if he accepts a new deal.

It simply beggars belief the possibility he may stay.

Would anyone else have kept Gillespie btw?
Thought he looked a handy player. Bit pissed off that we are happy to wave boys like that off and yet somebody like Robson is still here.

Yes! Especially with Flood away! He would have been an ideal focal point in a midfield with a creative player next to him.

I thought Gillespie was decent but we must try and get better, we didn’t score enough goals from midfield! As for robson honestly if we keep him that would piss me off more than keeping csaba

You have dealt, with our communications and media people haven't you ?
they probably issued the statement a few days ago, and "it's working our end"

Mohsni was better than we had, but I wasn't over impressed by him. Having said that, he played a lot of games for us in a short time, and it must have taken a toll after such a long lay off.
I think he may have an offer in already from another club, and in any case, it'd be daft for him to sign for us when he has the prospect of playing in the World Cup.
Didn't see what the others saw in Gillespie.
However, to return to the initial post, yes, we are dragging our feet in getting the fans onside after such a dismal season, especially after MM's promise to start 'immediately' rolling out change.

I dont understand thwhy anyone would want to keep Gillespie, he looked bang-average at best and not the type of player we need if we want to improve next season. Glad to see the back of him, remember he couldnt even get a game at Hamilton.

Re Jamie Robson, will it not be the case that if the club say he is free to leave then they would then lose any right to a possible development fee? I am sure the club will have actually offered him some kind of contract to protect their position on this.
I think Scott Fraser is slightly different as he is now passed his 23rd birthday and so the club wouldn’t get any kind of development fee for him now.

With you on that one, was surprised he was hooked when others stayed on park as we chased a goal, thought he’d done a power of work in the midfield and not shy with his tackles either. Unlike most of the rest.

I have found myself saying that at times also that he's not the worst and he's a decent squad player and I totally get where you are coming from.
But let's call a spade a spade lads the boys is a very limited player whom wouldn't have been near Tannadice 3 years ago. Christ what have we become.

Agree Gillespie was MoM at Livvy and gave him 4/10 - we should aim to do better.
Robson should be freed rather than run the risk of him accepting a deal and wasting a much needed budget. Heard that Fraser's off to Jambo's
