Two Csaba Tales

Was told two stories about Csaba last night, both of which are from trusted sources.

a) After the QoS defeat at Palmerston, the players waited for Csaba to appear after the match to give his views. He came in and congratulated them on reaching the play-off, told them they could get changed, and left. The players, needless to say, were taken aback.

b) Earlier in the season Csaba collected the players for a talk, and he'd prepared photographs of distraught United fans viewing another poor performance. He went round the squad, showing the pictures, and asked the players their feelings about the images. The players felt quite awkward at this type of approach, but also found it laughable enough to tell the tale, which went around fellow players at other clubs.

We are a laughing stock.

Re: Two Csaba Tales

Not surprised to hear this stuff. The poorer 2nd half performances suggest that his motivational qualities are non existent.

Re: Two Csaba Tales

I think he's a useless bastard and needed sacked ages ago, but I totally understand his thinking behind why he did this one, fans idolise players, wee boys dream of pulling on the jersey, to them it's a job, to us it's much, much more than that.

The fact they obviously missed his point, to the point they laughed about it and ripped him for it, then spread it about speaks volumes about their attitudes.

Cunts.

I’d ask, Why does he not think this is a problem?

Csaba’s hopeless

Martin is a far bigger and more important problem imo.

Pat the whole club has been a laughing stock in the football community for quite some time.  It’s one of the main reason why we struggle to get quality players, no one wants to come to us.

Correct and the longer he’s there with Stephen pulling his strings from behind scenes, things will not get better.

Totally agree with that.

Why was that funny to the players?

Re: Two Csaba Tales

Gonna nail my flag to the mast. I want to give shabs a chance at building a team. He talks well about passion and wanting players to believe in the club and themselves. I dont for a minute think theres a language barrier issue. The guy is passionate and takes longer to express his thoughts and aims. This isnt, and shouldnt be an issue. If ye dinny like his half hour interviews... dinny watch them. Its 25 mins more than the previous did. I see it as positive that hes willing to engage with the fans.
Re the pivotal lyng subbie... aye, that was a strange one. But we will never know... he might have been thrown on to add height. He might be fkn Pele in training... none of us know.
My personal opinion is that the current squad were going through the motions.. fuck this, im off.. my agent will sort me out. They will all fail at their next club. Fraser the only one who may give it a go. That squad are fucking shite. Call me old fashioned.. but i always thought a coach/manager was there to do exactly that... but ffs, give shabba his due, he canny polish turds.
The double glazing salesman had a huge amount of say with a lot of the january fire sales. Again.. who knows what goes on?..
Sorry... rambling!😂

Re: Two Csaba Tales

I'm not trying to slag Csaba with these tales, just illustrating his methods and the players' reactions.

And over and above this, the second story comes from a member of a rival management team, indicating that tales travel fast to the opposition, who may find the method a bit strange and thus the club laughable.

Re: Two Csaba Tales

Some of the pictures of the distraught fans might well be attributable to Csaba's selections, tactics and lack of motivational qualities  rather than or even as well as players performances. Csaba and his tactics might well be culpable for players under-performing rather than to their maximum capability.

Had we appointed Hopkins instead of Csaba, I suspect with largely the same group of players, we might have been promoted as Champions instead of struggling to make the play offs. The consensus at the start of the season was that we had a better squad than last year and fans were generally optimistic as to our chances.

I put our failure entirely down to the 2 clueless managers as well as the guy who appointed them.

Keep Csaba and we'll likely be in the play offs for the 1st Division next year irrespective of what players we have based on his (lack of) success rate in the 2nd half of this season

The second story I knew of through reading in  media or arabzone interview with Csaba, can't remember which. It's not  been leaked through players only.

Re: Two Csaba Tales

I think Csaba should have been concentrating on making sure the players were defensively sound (especially in the tougher away games) and competitive in all areas of the pitch and did a decent amount of attacking in every game to have a chance of scoring enough goals to win games. I didn't see any evidence of this type of management in his 31 games in charge  and this is why we failed

Re: Two Csaba Tales

I doubt Hopkins would have got the same never say die attitude as he did from his own team. It has to be inside the players and I don't think it is in ours

If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Livingston’s season turned after the January window when Hopkins made some astute signings
He would have had the same opportunity with us to make signings and likely wouldn’t have squandered them the way Csaba did.
The window Csaba completely botched is a massive concern for him to keep his position

Re: Two Csaba Tales

See when ralston got halved on the halfway line in front of the dugouts.. he got up straight away. No cunt surrounded the ref.. no one made an issue. When we say we are too soft... this is where its at. He should have stayed down and every player forcing the ref to show a red. Thats what celtic and scott brown do...

Re: Two Csaba Tales

Theres to much blame/praise directed at managers games are won by players. Give me a shite manager and good players ovet a good manager and shite players any day.  At this level leagues are won and  lost in recruitment.

That moment summed up the current squad of players and manager we have right now.

Worse was to follow when we through the ball back to them after their player got treatment.

I wouldn't.

McNamara was a shite Manager who inherited good players.

Problem is at a club our size players are very quickly recyclable. So a shite Manager will be exposed before too long when he has to bring in his own players.

We need someone with experience of building squads successfully on a modest budget and bringing out the best in average players.

We need to push the boat out for Tommy Wright this time.

Not for me. A good manager can get the best out of whatever he’s got and will play systems to suit them. Players will be attracted by a better manager as they will see opportunity nities to progress. A good manager would have kept it s up or got to s up either time.
