I'm more concerned about this question;

People say 'better the devil you know?' The devils a good guy compared to this bastard.
I know who I'd rather have in charge.

Thompson out.

Mate, do you know Jimmy Fyffe??

It reads to me that JF is maybe not the right man for the job, but it could be an innocent question

Out of curiosity, what makes you ask that?  I don't know the guy and probably wouldn't recognise him if I saw him ringside at Wrestlemania.

Edit, I meant to quote Heggy's Handshake.

Re: 2 bids knocked back to buy the club

I don't know him either, but the question from HH reads;

"Mate, do you know Jimmy Fyffe??"

To me, that reads as if it's a leading question. Like I said, it could be a genuine question but the "Mate" and double question mark implies something.

Possibly overthought this

Sorry to be the one to write this here, but isn't that an odd question to ask of MockChop?

Why would you ask this?

Well I wouldn't want someone who is going to buy over the club and not have 2 pennies to rub together.

I probably didn't edit my post quickly enough.  I meant to quote Heggy's Handshake myself.

I got the impression that HH thinks that JF might not be up to it, but I'd be interested to know why, if he's able to share his opinion.  On the other hand I might have picked HH up wrong and its a genuine question.

Wrong end of the stick lads, I've no idea wether Jim is up to it or not.  It's a genuine question regarding the 'diehard fan' description.

I wouldn't wish to denegrate our possible future saviour in such a way mate.

I do, and knew him before he made his money.

How wealthy are we talking here?

wealth off the radar.

Re: 2 bids knocked back to buy the club

I'm taking one wee positive from the rumoured bids, and more especially Mike Martin paying money for Justine's shares: why would anyone want to get more involved in the club if we were heading for administration?

And wouldn't ST bail out of there was a likelihood of financial collapse, especially if it's true he was offered half a million quid?

Said the exact same to others, why would you buy up shares in a business if that business is heading for 'financial collapse'? Can only mean there is something on the horizon.

But do we?

We have nothing official at this time that the lassie Gillian wants to become owner.

Id simply say take these "bids" with a pinch of salt.

Someone on. eF saying she's a Celtic fan. Can't see her wanting our club somehow.

Shes already given a loan to the club allegedly.

Huge difference between giving a loan and buying the club though.

She’s worth more than double the amount her and her ex-husband won on the lottery now. Made a lot of smart investments, and now has a property business in Carnoustie, a lot of houses that go up for sale in the town are snapped up by her.

If this really is true, with her and Jimmy Fyffe, who definitely wants to buy the club, as some sort of dream team, they need to make these bids public, if it comes out that that fucker is turning down offers when we’re in the state he’s got us in, there’ll be merry hell for him.

The reason he’s had it so easy till now, is because there’s no viable alternative, if the fans have someone to rally round, particularly when it’s a diehard Arab  and a local woman worth well into 9 figures, both with a business brain, and not just a coffee-stained silver spoon, he’ll be forced out.

An owner worth 100 million and a business smart chairman.

What a dream.

First bid was to give Thompson £1 to buy the club and immediately wipe out all the debt (2.1 million).

Turned down.

2nd bid he was offered 500k in 4 quarterly instalmemts of 125k...turned down.

Holding out for 2 million.

Just passing on what i've heard lads.

IF true then this goes against what ST has said, albeit privately.  He said he’d take £1 and walk away as he was fed up with it all, so what’s changed? I’m certain him and MM have something up their sleeve and I’m certain no one is going to like it.

See your certainty, is it based on anything substantial, or just a feeling?

I'd think both ST and MM have to leave, but given your comment above (no one is going to like it), are they angling at a merger?

I said months ago, maybe longer there was something going on along that line, I may be wrong, but the securities over all the property at Tannadice street, a proposed new stadium for our neighbours, a United related company set up by ST and MM, who gains financially if Utd disappear or perhaps have to start again playing elsewhere?
It’s maybe not the best area, but it’s a significant bit of land at Tannadice/Gussie etc lot could be done with that.
Most of all I just don’t trust them and that I am certain about.

Can't deny any Arab the hope for change at the top. Can't be  trusted and that feeds the worst worries.
A massive amount of speculation and most might be far off but based on well founded worries & desperate hope.

Rumour comes from the lad who scored the peach with one leg, Tommy McKay who's been well supported by United and probably wouldn't risk putting something like this out unless he believed it. Says he trusts the source 100%. He names Gillian Bayford.

Don't know what to think other than it's a good time for change to be supported. Worry the potential new owner may be supported before knowing how they can be , what their plans and motives are and what they aim to invest long term. Who would be around them to support them in a business sense?
Also the confirmatiom Mike Martin bought JustineMitchell's shares today adds to the speculation.

Hard to believe any incoming owners would sell off best assets before a Cup Final to the opposition or recover debt in ways that create misstrust and fan turmoil but it's futba and we need to be sceptical.

All the more reason for a United fans group to be solution driven and as involved as they can be in questioning any future change.

He’s not Eddie Thompson wealthy. Used NCR redundancy & started JFKegs. Has owned a few pubs, has / had a few racehorses. A good Arab and, for me, a frank & honest guy.

JF Kegs is a successful and still growing, business.

If he’s ‘the face’ backed by Bayfords money..? Interesting.
