I have been thinking about this for a while for a possible solution to rid ST.
I have contacted the Arabtrust, the Fed, DUSF and will contact Fans United also. My idea is that all the fans groups merge as 1, even just as a temporary measure. The arabtrust are the 3rd largest shareholders in the club I believe, the FED are the largest supporter group in terms of members and DUSF have funds. I know many of the fans in the groups don't see eye to eye or share the same views or opinions, but as long as we're divided, ST will conquer.
A unity of all supporters groups as 1, with some of the DUSF's funds, we could buy more shares in the club and with the 3rd largest share in the club under the arabtrust, we could force the issue on ST and have greater strength in numbers.
ST will shit himself if we all come as 1. St Mirren did it, Hearts did it and Motherwell did it, we can do it.
Some will disagree with this idea but I will say to them, ST won't sell, potential buyers wont give him the amount he is asking for, the fans can be the trojan horse here and take control from within.

I’d just disagree with Arabtrust being involved. They’ve had representatives on the board the whole time and said and done nothing. They’re part of the problem not the solution.

You'd never be able to buy enough shares to have any influence.
I do agree tho that ALL fans groups have to get around the table and try to find a solution.

was that no what DUSF were wanting b&t. Basically for every supporter (Season Ticket holder if you like) to pay in a grand each, which would amount to about £5M, which would be enough to buy the Club.

Im sure theyd like that but im positive its not. They asked for "founder members" who would put in a larger sum (not sure of exact figures) but normal punters its a tenner a month. I think they were looking to put in 200 to 300k a year iirc .

Sure dusf founder members paid between £500 & £1000 for to be founder members Whitch helped them with alot of set up costs.
If i remember correctly it was around 54 founders they got

I mibbee misread the scenario when they were setting up. Mibbee I was looking too simplistic. I thought it sounded like a no bad idea, for us to put a thousand quid in each, and then buy out the Club. given the state we were in at the time, and moreso the fragmented setup of the various grouos, there was an element of risk. What a thought tho ay?

Those that can put a grand in each are few and far between tbf.
I heard tho that one of the dusf steering group could buy out thompson if he wanted to but is more interested in just getting a seat on the board than running things. Now i dont know if thats true. Only saying what ive heard.

I'm a long term supporter of United, have had a season ticket since the seventies and have spent many thousands of pounds supporting United.
But I wouldn't hand over £1000 or even £100 to a supporters' group, as I wouldn't trust them to use it wisely. And I very much doubt the support is cash rich enough to even entertain the idea of handing substantial sums to folk who, to most of us, are well meaning strangers.

The guy who set-up DUSF posts on here and has said more than once (at least publicly) that they are not interested in 'buying out' Thompson.

If they raised 5million with supporters cash..
What happens when that money has ran out?
Do they beg the supporters for another grand each?

That was Fidel Castro (about the flyers).
The poster Dug-Out is on the DUSF committee and a founder. He doesn't post often right enough and hasn't been on for awhile.
